We had the good fortune of connecting with Esteban Galarza and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Esteban, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My wife Karina Benitez is a economist and chef, I’m a industrial designer, we are from Ecuador, so, we started to find some interesting latin restaurants with awesome proposals, we started as foodies in the middle of 2018 and after visit like 7 or 8 different restaurants from different countries we couldn’t find a latin food guide to show us the best latin restaurant in ATL, an we create ¡Ay Sabor! Latin Food Guide, a, English latin food guide which shows all the best latin “holes in the wall” of ATL area. It wasn’t easy to visit more than 150 restaurants, and to be honest probably we just visit half of them and the main reason of this was to help those small business to get more reach and bring the local American people. Once we launched this food guide, we developed more products for the business owners and restaurants, for example we start to offer branding, web development and digital marketing. It was crazy because I use to work for a cosmetic company, and I was General Manager for 4 years for them, but I felt that was not my thing, I have been trying to do what I learned at the college so we found that opportunity and then we went for it. My spouse was who teach me a lot of things about the food and I started to fell more interested on that, we cook a lot of Ecuadorian food at home, it is something we love to do. We couldn’t find any Ecuadorian spot here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
There is something that I always say: “There is something nobody can find or buy, the ideas”, basically that’s our difference, we help people to find a better projection on their businesses, my wife have worked for several restaurants in all the areas, kitchen, service, administrative, and that is our strength. I’m 31 years old right now and I was involved on 3 entrepreneurship projects, so probably being an entrepreneurs is in our DNA lol. It was really challenging because we are branding specialists, and all the branding concept is new for the latin people here in ATL. We started building a team, because this is not like open a restaurant where you can use people with no experience and teach them how to serve a dish or customer service, this is different, we work with professional, designer, writers, web developers and it is not easy to share your projection with all the people but once you have the correct people around you everything start to work better and better. We are a different company, we show us first of all as humans, our mission is to help the people to reach their dreams. I believe that is the brand experience of our company.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
We love food so I have 2 favorite spots so far, tacos at Carniceria 3 Hermanos in Roswell, and Ramen at Ton Ton in Ponce City Market. I really enjoy a good beer and one of our favorite brewery is New Realm Brewery close to Ponce City Market and Gate City Brewery in Roswell. I love Georgia and one of the reasons is the trails you can find here, we enjoy to hiking with my wife and Amicalola Falls is one of our favorites. Don’t forget Helen, we go there every year to the Oktoberfest, Georgia is awesome.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Well, my family fo sure. My wife, mother and bothers were who support this crazy idea, even when they couldn’t understand what we will do in order to make money lol. Create something from scratch is not easy, my mom was worried about how we will pay our bills and all that stuff, but they support us a lot on all the process.
