We had the good fortune of connecting with Erica Parker and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erica, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Over the years of being an young Entrepreneur, I’ve learned that Entrepreneurship isn’t a skill nor art. It’s a practice.

Starting a new business can be very risk taking. For me it was very scary and risky because I didn’t know what I was doing. I was learning as I was going and that taught me patience, understanding, practice, and consistency. It’s not easy as you think trying to start a new business or a business in general. It’s not supposed to be easy at all. It’s so much to think about such as your goals, aspects in life, your short term and long term goals for your business, what do you wish to achieve? What’s your purpose? What’s the meaning behind your company and etc. There’s so much to think about and my main thoughts were will I succeed, will I fail, will others support me?

Those thoughts aren’t positive and will trick you into thinking you don’t have the capability to become your best self. Thoughts are normal, fear is normal, discomfort is normal when starting something new but you must trust the process and believe in your higher self. See things through, understand your gift and cherish it! God will cover the rest.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My name is Erica Parker known as “LadyE”.
I studied Cosmetology in 2012 at 14 years old. I created my business “LadyE Beauty & Cosmetics LLC “ in 2018 at 19 years old. I was also, a college student studying “Business Management”. Along those lines I was trying to educate myself on business and start it at the same time. LadyE Beauty was designed to make others love the skin they’re in. Knowing to love self and understand the power of enchanting the beauty from within.

I started with beauty products. I remember it like it was yesterday working at Walmart and working on my business. The self motivation came from within knowing what I wanted and what I was working towards. I started to promote my business socially and network with anyone I can, I felt unstoppable. The passion I have in beauty is deniable. I went from selling products to offering services. I invested into myself to become a Certified Lash Technician, Brow Specialist, and Esthetician.

I started in the comfort of my own home. I built a small beauty studio in my basement. I created my own lane and stayed focus on leveling up my business each step of the way!

I’m now a suite owner, instructor, and mentor for beauty and the youth. I’m so grateful and proud of how far I’ve came. I couldn’t do it without prayer, belief and my supporters. The reason why I’m here today is because I never GAVE UP. It wasn’t easy at all, it still isn’t. I failed many times before I succeeded. I’ve learned failures, tests and obstacles build character. I’m still growing and learning, Entrepreneurship is a practice.

I want you all to know not all storms come to disrupt your life and future. Some come to clear your surroundings and pathway. Everybody cannot go where God is taking you. Understand throughout your journey never look back, face your challenges and know that nobody is coming to save you. If you can believe it you can also, achieve it!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My ultimate favorite outings will always be brunch.

• Check out Noir Lounge (great for brunch)

• Kobe’s (delicious hibachi spot)

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I’d love to give thanks to everyone that supported me from day one. I cherish the support, mentorship and encouragement from all over. Those whom I’ve never met and believes in my brand it’s the movement that keeps me going and I truly appreciate it all.

My supporters are who keeps my business alive. It’s the loyalty and dedication they pour into my business, I can’t thank them enough for allowing me to grow in the process throughout all my trials and tribulations.
