We had the good fortune of connecting with Erbriyon Barrett and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Erbriyon, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I see risk as unanswered opportunity especially with what I do your always gonna be in a position where you have to risk something in hopes of a positive outcome most of that is investing in yourself financially when you have that last dollar…..I had invest a good amount of my savings to hold my own show for my second year of art basel renting out a space and a wall to have my own mural not knowing the outcome I didn’t really wanna live with that what if mindset if I never went through with it but I’m glad I did good or bad I love investing in myself to build my confidence in what it do

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I don’t really still know what sets me apart from others In my art style even though I’ve been told by people before what does but with me personally one thing is that I’m real diverse in creating I side act I can dance mostly break dancing and popping I love to take pictures which has been recently new for me I can paint do murals animate and design I’ve never really had a problem learning new things when it comes to creating It’s a lot of steps on how I got to where I am today getting into that life after high school vibe when I was 20 joining the military for 3 years to find myself moved to South Carolina to start working to live on my own starting over and now finally moved to Atlanta to be a full time artist it’s a lot but in all that I always made art while that was going on doing shows posting my stuff sending out stuff to people in hopes of an opportunity I’m still to this day trying to get where I wanna be with myself and my art …..it’s really a relatable transition that I feel like my people in their 20s go through on finding themselves and do what they love I’m just really consistent and motivated and I wanna inspire people who personally know me it’s not a lot of big names from my home town area who does art so I try hard to represent for the present youth that’s there who are into creating and doing things love to do that they can look up to

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Recently I’ve been a big fan of grind house burgers so getting food there first if not there definitely food at Ponce City Market that’s one of my favorite spots in Atlanta then after check out downtown and site see ….hopefully if the games are open to the public definitely a falcons Or hawks game I’m a day one fan both so if I got the time I’m definitely hitting up a game introduced them to one of Atlanta’s finest advice giver Ashley at desperate houseware I always do my weekly checkups there hopefully they came around when some good art shows or exhibits are going on so we would definitely go check those out as well ….but with corona still in effect a lot of stuff is limited or still opening up so all the big exciting stuff may be limited

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
