We had the good fortune of connecting with Dreama Nguyen and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dreama, what is the most important factor behind your success?
I think the biggest factor behind my success has been to not be afraid to hear “no” and not being afraid to take opportunities that don’t come with a paycheck right away. In the beginning, getting my name and brand out there was more important than the money because I knew I had to start somewhere.

I’ve also learned not to stress when things don’t go exactly the way I planned. Sometimes what feels like a setback is actually leading you where you’re supposed to be. Everything happens for a reason, and every experience teaches you something that helps you grow.

Most importantly, I try to stay positive no matter what. A negative mindset can hold you back, but when you stay focused, optimistic, and keep believing in yourself, you’re able to see opportunities where others might only see obstacles. Success is a journey, and for me, it’s always been about trusting the process, staying consistent, and never giving up.

The 2 biggest things you need to succeed in life is consistency and value. What do I mean by value? I mean to always be reliable and dependable, be on time, and be a person that is easy to work with. People that you come across will be an easy network, however, if you are always flaking out of the shoot or the project or the meetings, then those same people will see that you are not taking things seriously. Companies love people and brands that they can trust and rely on.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
What sets me apart is my ability to connect with people from all walks of life. Being of mixed cultures has given me a unique perspective and helped me build genuine relationships with people from different backgrounds. I believe people are drawn to authenticity, and I’ve always tried to stay true to who I am.

My journey into modeling was completely unexpected. I was newly divorced at the time and honestly lacked confidence in myself. I wasn’t someone who took selfies or put myself out there. I was the mom who filled her social media with photos of her kids and stayed behind the camera. One day, a friend was doing a photoshoot and his model canceled at the last minute. After a lot of convincing, I agreed to step in. When the photos were released, the response was overwhelming. Suddenly, people were reaching out and wanting to work with me as a model. What started as a favor for a friend turned into a career I never imagined for myself.

The road wasn’t always easy. Like many people, I had to overcome self-doubt and learn to see myself the way others saw me. The biggest lesson I’ve learned is that sometimes the opportunities meant for you show up when you least expect them. I truly believe you are meant to be where you are meant to be, and you cannot block the blessings God has for you. There is a path for everyone, and sometimes all it takes is a little encouragement to help you take that first step.

Today, one of the things I’m most proud of is the incredible people I’ve been able to surround myself with. I’ve learned that success isn’t just about talent, it’s about character. If you’re not genuine, sincere, and true to yourself, it’s difficult to build lasting relationships or create something meaningful. The opportunities I’ve been given have come from being authentic, treating people with kindness, and staying open to where life leads me.

If there’s one thing I want people to know about me and my brand, it’s that my story is proof that it’s never too late to step into something new. You don’t have to have everything figured out. Sometimes the best things in life happen when you take a chance on yourself, trust the process, and have faith that you’re exactly where you’re supposed to be!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I don’t really go out much personally. However, I have been to some places as a model. I would take them into the city of Atlanta, find some great dancing places like El Malo or maybe look into a nice dinner spot. Obviously, we could go around the city, sight seeing and just trying random foods that we can find on social media. I don’t like going out much but I do love eating and so do my friends!!

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would love to give a shoutout to my mom first and foremost. She taught me how to be an independent woman and to always go for what I want without fear. Second, I would like to give a shoutout to Kylyn from Dafyestudios and Kshaun Kortez from Nine5tv. Both of these men have shown me how to be confident and how to express myself creatively through modeling and acting. Both have pushed and supported me from the very beginning. Last but not least, I would like to thank my girls for helping me grow and motivating me to do what I have a passion for and to strive to be the best role model that I can be for them.
