We had the good fortune of connecting with Donald Lamb and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Donald, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, it wasn’t a thought process, it just happened. I began in the business helping someone (my military experiences prepared me for planning.). The young lady I was assisting was on a cruise and unfortunately she wasn’t able to return on time and she asked me to step in….I was terrified as I had never done anything of this caliber alone…but with the help of God, Google and research, I did it and it all started from clients calling me wanting my service…it was fate.. It didn’t take God by surprise, but it did me…LOL

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
As an ‘Event Planner’ it’s my job to orchestrate and coordinate any event with dignity and class,. Always give yourselves to the client as many of my clients have become family without the DNA attachment.

Showing people you care means alot, especially in these days of uncertainty.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend was visiting, we would eat at some of the best eateries in town, fine dining, golfing and a well known winery 🍷 tasting in the area.

We would enjoy our time together as friends with reminiscing about old times and make the most of our limited time together.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
My late Mother, Arthalia F. Lamb, she was my inspiration through all of this. When I began ‘event planning’ she always said to me, Don don’t forget to pray and ask God for guidance, and always know I love you son…hence my business name is Momasboy Event Planning and Coordination….

She was my #1 fan and she supported me in many ways, but her love for me was immeasurable. She always told me to be respectful and treat others how I desire to be treated, always do your best and allow God to do the rest.
