We had the good fortune of connecting with Devon Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Devon, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
The concept behind our business originated while visiting my wife in Greece a couple years ago. At the time, I was doing what I thought was my dream job- working for a fortune 500 technology company. I had the luxury of working remote and being able to travel when I wanted, but the thought of having to stop living my life to troubleshoot or update spreadsheets wasn’t cutting it for me.

I figured getting my real estate license and helping family or friends buy and sell homes would be great additional income, and it definitely was an eye opener- but after meeting my mentor, Justin Giles, he opened up a passion in me that I didn’t realize I had. Surrounding myself around like minded individuals sort of exposed my mind to what I should be doing, and after learning what it takes to become financially free- my wife and I eventually began investing in real estate right when the pandemic first hit around this time last year.

After our first flip the concept behind our business began taking shape. We had an advantage because we literally just experienced what most novice investors go through when making your first investment. The idea of not fully understanding the financing, where to find contractors, what material to use, how to negotiate, etc- these were all the perfect formula for us to sort of fill a missing void in a popular niche’. There is a plethora of mentors teaching how to invest in real estate, but you don’t have too many out there that will flip the house with you.

We thought how much easier and worry free it would’ve been had we had our hand held throughout the process, and simply orchestrated our investing program from a lesson learned.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
We’re in the business of flipping real estate. We buy and sell houses year round, but what makes us so unique is we offer novice investors a way to invest in real estate without knowing how. Novice investors can learn the flipping process of it’s entirety from a to z, all while potentially earning a profit. Most mentors today will simply offer you information. We not only offer information but we flip the house for you.

What I’m most proud of is being able to help others learn the flip process, and truly give the keys towards financial freedom. Nothing excites me more than teaching others about the game and making money with them!

It took me a few years to get to where I am today. I wanted to turn this into a career so I first got my real estate license. I located a mentor and invested in my education. This process wasn’t easy, and we had to learn valuable lessons to get to where we are today. Any failures we came across I simply treated them as a stepping stone towards a better business.

We learned lessons such as what type of houses not to buy, what contractors to avoid, what material we shouldn’t use, repair before renovating, and several more lessons towards a better flip.

I want the world to know that we’re here to help you truly learn the process of real estate investing and will hold your hand throughout the entire process. You don’t have to be afraid to take calculated risk, and if you truly understand what you’re getting into the sky is the limit through real estate investing. Harris Estias will simply make this process much easier for you!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I personally like the midtown/downtown area of Atlanta! There’s a little bit of everything from walking a few miles at Piedmont park to grabbing a bite to eat at Barcelona or STK. I love hookah so you might catch me at any of the CRU locations or Pasha in Buckhead. We also love sushi and sake so we might slide over to Fudo in Chamblee for a quick fix as well.

We love the Atlantic Station area! There’s a lot of restaurants, shops, a movie theater, and bowling. We really enjoy grabbing a drink and sitting in the quad area! We also love ponce city market. There’s a rooftop amusement park overlooking the city, and well as 9 mile station. They have a brunch you can’t miss out on!

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
First and foremost I owe a huge shoutout to my wife, Dimitra Spilioti! She’s been supporting the process and transition since the beginning. My mom, Michele Harris, has also been a massive support for us and pushing us to keep going- along with the rest of my family members and friends. Our first investors were my family members, and I couldn’t thank them enough.

We wouldn’t be where we are today without the invaluable knowledge I gained from Justin Giles. He’s my mentor, my broker, and someone I look up to today. Him and his brother, Bradford Giles, gave me a lot confidence to take the risk I needed to take.

Another brother I’d like to give a shoutout to is Mr. Dontell Antonio (The King of Content). I met Dontell about a year ago, and because of him I’ve been able to sculpt myself into the business savvy entrepreneur you see today. This man has taught me how to truly become an entrepreneur, but more important- he’s a mentor and one of my good friends I’m hoping to continue to grow with.
