We had the good fortune of connecting with Dave Di Pietro and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Dave, what is the most important factor behind your success?
Surrounding myself with like-minded people. Any good business, creative or otherwise, is only as successful as the people behind it. In a creative industry like filmmaking, vision is everything. If you can find people who not only share this vision, but can add their creativity to it, you will be able to do remarkable things.

I started Reel Cool Entertainment to create fresh and original Intellectual Property for the motion picture, television and video game industry. Most of this type of product comes from either Hollywood or New York and wanted to establish Atlanta, Georgia as another hub for this creativity. After working in the home video industry and for Paramount Pictures for over thirteen years, I wanted to bring this knowledge of the industry to Georgia. Our biggest hurdle has been not being able to find local, producers excited about being part of the entertainment business. In spite of this hurdle, Reel Cool Entertainment has just wrapped a short film entitled, Soul Eater and has both a TV pilot and a full-length film on the docket for the coming year.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Though I live in Oxford, GA, I would most likely take them into Atlanta for some additional site-seeing. I love the Atlanta Zoo and Botanical Gardens, Both are truly fun and great places to see. The Zoo, though smaller than a lot of inner city zoos, allows closer interactions with the furry and scaled-skinned populace, making it quite unique. The Botanical Gardens offers seasonal exhibitions, making it a place you can check out many times throughout the year. One of my personal favorite places is Oakland Cemetery, at city’s edge. The rich history and beauty of this place is gorgeous year round and a great tavern, Six Feet Under is directly across the street.. There is also a myriad of other wonderful restaurants, taverns and steak houses throughout the city, too.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My Mom was the one of the most creative people I have ever known. She was an artist, a decorator, a writer and a business woman. She opened my eyes to countless possibilities and nurtured my inner creativity. Though she passed in 2002, I know her influence is with me every day and in everything I do.
