Meet Daphnée Renae | Model & Social Media Influencer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daphnée Renae and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Daphnée, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
I worked for the government for about 9 years, and I grew bored with it. I realized I didn’t want to work for someone else anymore, so I moved to Atlanta and started modeling & social media influencing full time.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
What I love about social media influencing is that I get to be unapologetically me. I get to be creative in showing my interests. I found that I really enjoy cooking, trying new food, and traveling the world. It definitely took me a while to get to this point, but the journey was absolutely necessary.
For years, I would do boutique modeling, music videos, hosting, and collabing with brands like Fashion Nova, PLT, etc. It was extremely fun, but the older I got the more I wanted to find a niche that really interested me. It wasn’t until after my boufriend died that I truly found a passion in cooking.
It gave me something to do that kept me busy and I found it really interesting! Not too long after, I started doing food reviews on my social media and I’ve been successful with that! I enjoy having more purposeful content on my social media. I love traveling, so it’s very easy for me to incorporate my travels into my social media.
I’ve definitely learned it’s more fun to create posts about things you’re truly interested in. I’m a firm believer in your work should be something you love! I want my social media influence to be meaningful and beyond just my looks.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I would definitely take them to some of my favorite restaurants. I really enjoy Asian food so we definitely would have to go to Fudo in Chamblee! Since I’ve been living in Atlanta, I’ve enjoyed going roller skating at Cascades! That’s a true Atlanta staple, so it’s only right we go. We would have to stop by Magic City for their world famous wings! Also, the Museum of Illusions would be on the itinerary. It’s a super cool space with interactive art.
Since I’ve been in Atlanta, I’ve developed a love for Korean BBQ. Char is definitely one of my favorites, so that would be on my list.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I definitely would love to shoutout my family and friends. They’ve always been super supportive and I never would have made it this far without them. Also, all my supporters that help me and believe in me!
