Meet Daniel Kabanko | business owner in the appliance repair market

We had the good fortune of connecting with Daniel Kabanko and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Daniel, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
Starting my own business was both a natural progression and a long-held dream. Since my university days, I had always aspired to build something of my own. I studied business extensively, graduating from Georgia State University with a degree in Marketing and Management. Before that, I earned a degree in Business Administration from Perimeter College and also studied PR, Advertising, and Accounting. These academic experiences shaped my entrepreneurial mindset and strengthened my passion for business ownership.

I entered the appliance repair industry somewhat by chance. While I was still in university, a friend asked me to manage advertising and operations for his appliance repair business. In 2013, I joined, applying my knowledge to help his business grow. Within two years, we tripled revenue, expanded the team, and optimized operations.

After gaining invaluable hands-on experience and seeing the impact of my efforts, I realized it was time to branch out. In 2015, I launched Atlanta City Appliance Repair, Inc. This move allowed me to apply everything I had learned—both academically and professionally—and create a business that aligned with my vision for outstanding service, integrity, and customer satisfaction.

Building Atlanta City Appliance Repair has been a challenging yet incredibly fulfilling journey. It combines my passion for business, problem-solving, and community service, and I’m proud of the reputation we’ve built as a trusted provider in the North Atlanta area.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Our business thrives on consistency and a genuine commitment to exceptional service. From responding to customer calls to crafting personalized emails, I make it a point to address every inquiry with care, regardless of the financial outcome. Our mission is rooted in serving the community, knowing that satisfied customers are the foundation of sustainable growth.

What truly sets us apart is our team. Every member is more than just an employee—they’re a friend and a valued human being. We work together as a unit, understanding not just professional challenges but also personal ones, uniting to help each other overcome them. This deep connection creates a supportive environment that drives our success. Without this incredible team, none of what we’ve accomplished would have been possible.

Expertise and innovation also play pivotal roles. We have years of hands-on experience and actively pursue factory training and industry meetings to stay ahead. Each day brings new challenges, and our team collaborates and brainstorms to solve even the most unfamiliar appliance issues for our customers.

Additionally, I am passionate about embracing new technology, particularly in online marketing. Whether optimizing our SEO strategy or writing impactful blog posts, the results are incredibly rewarding—like seeing new customers reach out after engaging with our content.

Overcoming challenges hasn’t been easy, but consistency, teamwork, and adaptability have been key. Our brand is built on service, innovation, and the belief that working together—both as professionals and as people—makes all the difference. We’re here to help, evolve, and always put the community first.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If a friend were visiting the Atlanta area, I’d ensure they experience the best of what the city and its surroundings have to offer. A visit to downtown Atlanta would be a must, starting with the Georgia Aquarium, the largest in the world, followed by a stroll through Centennial Olympic Park. These landmarks capture Atlanta’s vibrant energy and history. For dinner, we’d head to El Potro, an excellent Mexican restaurant with authentic flavors.

Next, we’d catch an Atlanta United soccer game at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium. The electrifying atmosphere of the fans combined with the architectural marvel of the stadium is an unforgettable experience. To dive into Atlanta’s diverse food culture, we’d enjoy a steaming bowl of Vietnamese pho at a local favorite spot. Later, we’d play some pickleball, a sport I love for its mix of fun and fitness.

To escape the city buzz, we’d venture to the vineyards of Dahlonega, GA. The scenic views and fine wines offer a perfect day to relax and unwind. For some local charm, we’d meet up with friends and explore neighborhoods like Midtown or Old Fourth Ward, discovering hidden gems.

Finally, we’d take some time to relax and connect, perhaps strolling through Piedmont Park or visiting Krog Street Market to enjoy its unique mix of food, art, and culture. Atlanta’s rich history, vibrant community, and natural beauty make it an ideal destination for making lasting memories.

Of course, I am deeply thankful to my parents and relatives who supported me along the way to reach this point. A special acknowledgment goes to my wife, who stood by my side through countless late nights spent promoting the appliance business, tirelessly searching for new customers, and responding to inquiries everywhere we went—from the islands to the mountains.

I am equally grateful to my incredible team, from dispatchers to technicians, who have stood with me through every challenging moment. Over the past 10 years, we’ve lost only a few team members, which speaks volumes about how closely knit and dedicated we are as a group. This shared commitment and camaraderie have been the foundation of our success and resilience
