We had the good fortune of connecting with Coral Mizrachi and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Coral, what’s the most difficult decision you’ve ever had to make?
The most difficult decision I’ve ever made was deciding to let go of expectations. you know the feeling when you’re a child and have a dream? I am the type of person that knew exactly how I wanted it to look like. But life just doesn’t work that way. Life is not a straight line, and it was hard for me to come to terms with that. I know it might sound pessimistic, but I feel it’s actually liberating. As soon as I decided to let go of those expectations of my future and redefine the meaning of fulfillment for myself, I felt freedom. Life did not go as planed for me, but still, I am living my dream. I’ve built a family, I’ve worked on sets I could only dream of, and acquired more knowledge and experience then I could ever knew I could have. The one thing I am truly afraid of is reaching a mountain top and feeling empty. I imagine this would only happen if would not feel fulfilled throughout the journey.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ve started acting at a young age. I can’t remember when it started for me, but the love for acting was just always there. I always imagined myself in movies and TV shows, and tried to reenact scenes in my head and with my dolls. Everywhere I could find a place to perform, I did. This lead me to the set of Comedy Central at 19 years old, and the same year I also had the pleasure to be cast in the first ever Hebrew adaptation of the musical Into The Woods.

I then moved to New York where I studied acting at the American Academy of Dramatic Arts. Since graduating I worked in productions around the US and in Europe. I was lucky to enough to work with Arian Behpour, Andrea Meshel, Ski-ter Jones, Bonzo Grimley productions, Audry Lane, and so much more amazing talents. The most recent projects I am allowed to talk about is the new music video for “SONET”, by Vlada Marcic. The music video is produced by Ison Film, and is a beautiful and moving piece of music and cinema. Now on TV in the Balkans, and available online (Label and rights: PGP RTS).
I can tell you though that nothing has actually changed from when I was young except having more experience and education in my belt. I am working on amazing sets and making a living out of my dream, but I am still the little girl with an overactive imagination acting sceneries in her head. I just truly love acting and I love my job. I wish I could talk about the projects that are upcoming but I can’t, this will have to wait for next time…

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
My favorite is to go to the Botanical Gardens! I love nature and the gardens always brings peace to my soul. It’s the perfect place to bring a friend who is visiting town.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
You are right, our success is never truly ours. I find it quite difficult to decide on one person to bring to the spotlight, it feels like the 45 second you have for your Oscar award acceptance speech, and you have to put every person that is important to you in the list. Be sure that every person I have met in my life helped me in my path, and there are so many people that I would like to give a shoutout to. I will be corny and mention my husband Boris, who is always there for me and is supporting me in every step of the way.
