We had the good fortune of connecting with Christopher Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Christopher, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
Honestly, my thought process was actually all over the place haha. From a child, I always enjoyed putting on clothes. Whether it was the norm, different, colorful, ripped, whatever. I always had an extreme interest in the history of clothes. Learning from hip hop, skate, Punk, and the sports culture. I never had an idea on how I would express my hobby as a real interest to the world, I just knew it was apart of me,

My mother passed away some time ago and ironically the last conversation we had, I explained to her that I finally figured out what I wanted to do with my life. That was to create a brand of my own and express my creative talents thought it. She told me “If you like it baby, I love it. Let’s figure it out”. That moment changed my life and it became very clear what I was going to do to reach that goal. That conversation created a BURNING DESIRE in me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I feel like what makes my art unique it how genuinely I am about my craft. I understand the importance of money, but I never was a huge money person because I feel its 1000 ways to make it back. I rather sell the WHY rather than the dollar amount. Sell the community aspect has always been my main focus. Create a home for the dreamers, somewhere we all can feel safe while chasing our dreams. Something like a home team!

I learned early on that you have to learn the game and language of your art first. Become self efficient in your craft FIRST before branching out to far. I had to dissect the Who, what, where, when and why to understand what I was presenting to people. This helped me so much because it allowed me to be a “swiss army knife”, “Jack of all trades” & learn parts about this industry I would have never known about it. This journey has been rewarding in everyway. Rather I’m winning from a new experience or learning by taking a lesson to the chin. These experiences turned into opportunities for me to gain knowledge and learn more. My biggest lesson was I had to learn how to “Be comfortable because uncomfortable”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
hmmmmm, I’m in the Alpharetta area, so we would skip Atlanta for the first couple days haha. I would first take the homie to The Avalon for the shopping experiences. Its more than enough to do out there. Since its MEGA hot this summer, I would show him Vickery Mill as well. Beautiful waterfall that I take my kids to all the time, Its a whole vibe. Downtown Roswell & Alpharetta are also worth the trip too, so we’ll check them out. After sometime in the outskirts… We are going to hit the city for sure. It a must we visit 100 different food spots lol. Definitely got to check out the scenery and the many historical landmark areas in the city. We probably wont do this in one day, but who knows, its Atlanta.. I think we can make it shake lol

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
The most important person I want to shoutout is my Mother. She passed away years ago, but she was the soul motivation for why I am passionate about what I do. The nurturing and encouragement she pumped into me growing up, bloomed an always growing flower and burning desire in me. She never denied my dreams and always encouraged me to chance them no matter what I was into. I never lost that “Never give up” that taught me. The last conversation I ever had with her, I explained to her that I wanted to make my own clothes and designs for a living. She told me “if you like it, I love it. Lets figure it out!”. That changed my life. Thank you Mom Dukes, I love you forever, Watch me worl!
