We had the good fortune of connecting with Christin Gaither and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Christin, what’s the most important thing you’ve done for your children?
As a parent, the most important thing I’ve done is become an entrepreneur. My son was diagnosed with autism at 18 months and I’ve always had to work around his therapy schedule. When I worked for others it was kind of a struggle, but once I branded myself and was able to have my own business I has the freedom to set aside anytime I need for my son.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
My business is centered around getting your hair healthy. I think what sets my business apart from others is my main goal is too help women feel confident with wearing their hair but also obtaining health. In my business I feel the proudest when I see my customers love their results and they’re satisfied. What got me to where I am now in my business is honestly me perfecting my skill and working hard, I’m also big on customer service and that plays a big role. Building business wasn’t easy I think the biggest challenge for me was finding my niche, after hair school you’re just left with the things they teach you by the book, so you have to find your own style and make people want to patronize it. I can honestly say I struggled with finding my niche for about 5 years and almost gave up completely. What I did to overcome it was to find what I did best (which was cuts and Silkpress) and master it.once I mastered it I did a lot of social media promoting and I built my clientele. The biggest learned is stay professional and always be mindful of other times. Something i would wan the world to know about my story is that I always want to inspire and help others grow when they see me and my business.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Friday we would start light at “ms icey kitchen “ . On Saturday we would go to Edgewood and bar hop . Sunday we’d probably do brunch at “Nana’s chicken and waffles” or “the real milk and honey “
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would want to dedicate my shoutout to My mom. She always believed my talents and dreams even when I didn’t. She always supported and invested in my business so I have to shout her out .
