We had the good fortune of connecting with Chi Ilochi and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chi, can you talk to us a bit about the social impact of your business?
I believe one of our many purposes as business owners and creatives is to give back to the very thing that helped get us to where we are now. My company StylingByChi provides Image Consulting and Fashion Styling services to your favorite model // actor/actress. We’ve decided to take things a step further, by providing those services for free to those who are mentally / physically ill, autistic and homeless. My company helps the community by restoring hope to those who may feel forgotten or left behind. It’s important that everyone has the privilege of feeling and looking their best no matter what cards life dealt them.
What should our readers know about your business?
I believe my philanthropic values are what sets me apart from others. As well all know, the fashion industry is known for being self serving and I to change that narrative. I am most proud of my commitment to my vision of making the fashion industry revolutionary for all of the right reasons. I’ve made many mistakes and have learned many hard lessons to get to where I am today. This process has been a lonely one but it’s been more than worth it. Everyone isn’t meant to understand your purpose because it is yours and yours alone and that’s okay. Perseverance and determination will keep you when you find yourself losing faith. God will never bring you this far to abandon you when the going gets tough. There’s always more waiting on the other side of adversity. want the world to know that Styling By Chi will be the fashion company that changes and saves many lives.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
I am not from Atlanta but I would take them to the “Trap Music Museum”. I’ve heard nothing but great reviews, so I know it would be an outing to remember.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to take the time out to shout out my manager “Donna Ilochi” for being so supportive, and encouraging. There have been too many times to count where I’ve wanted to give up and immediately felt otherwise thanks to the life that was spoken over me by this incredible woman. Without Donna, I wouldn’t be who or what I am and for that I will always be grateful.
