We had the good fortune of connecting with Chelsea Arrington and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Chelsea, how has your background shaped the person you are today?
Hello! My name is Chelsea Arrington. I’m a native of Phenix City, Alabama. I’m a 2015 graduate of Auburn University, Auburn, AL. While attending Auburn University, I received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration with a concentration in Entrepreneurship and Family Business. I’ve gained and developed in-depth knowledge and expertise in business, finance, marketing, and management. It is often said that one’s upbringing can make a true difference in one’s life. A person’s views are often shaped by those that someone is around the most. My parents played a huge role in my upbringing. My dad was huge on community and work ethics. He worked several jobs to provide for his family and to ensure all needs were met. My mom was huge on religion and my walk with God. She ensured I knew God for myself and I was on the right path. Their hard work and dedication have shaped me into the woman I am today. I am truly grateful for where I came and where I’m going. Here I am today……. I’m a young community leader and a multipreneur of 3 growing businesses Ma’Jestic Cupcakes and Company LLC, Generational Changers, and Business With Purpose Consulting LLC. After graduating from college, I came back to my hometown and decided to give back to my community. As a community leader, I wanted to take responsibility for the well being and improvement of my community. I believe in organizing around many issues: youth development, economic growth, crime, the environment, etc. One of my central and long term goal as a community leader is to develop other leaders. Developing leaders is how we build a strong community of individuals that can work together for the common good. I’m also apart of several organizations in my community such as Urban League of Greater Columbus Young Professionals, Fountain City Classic, East Alabama Chamber Of Commerce, Greater Columbus Young Professional, Let’s Grow STEAMx, NAACP Phenix City-Russell, Over the last couple of years, I’ve realized something about myself: I’m a Multipreneur. In 2014, I birthed Ma’Jestic Cupcakes and Company. I provide affordable and homemade products to all clients. In 2016, I birthed Generational Changers. We help millennials identify their true purpose in life, as well as get them engaged and involved in the community. Generational Changers are created with and for a PURPOSE destined to change generations. In 2020, I birthed Business With Purpose Consulting LLC. We motivate and inspire small business entrepreneurs in developing an innovative marketing plan and a strategic business approach that focuses on their individual goals and aspirations. I”m grateful for where I’m at, but I’m definitely excited for where I’m going. “It’s Not Where You Start, It’s Where You Finish! So Finish STRONG!!”
What should our readers know about your business?
Obtaining wy BSBA in Entrepreneurship and Family Business from Auburn University shaped me into the businesswoman I am today. In 2014, I started Ma’Jestic Cupcakes and Company. We wanted to create a way to bring quality cupcakes at a reasonable price. In 2016, I started Generational Changers. Which is an organization that was created to build up and transform strong authentic leaders within our community. At the core belief system of our organization, the instilling of positive values and a mentorship spirit is at the forefront of our mission statement. This value system not only pertains to our “now” leaders but also to the leaders of tomorrow. Our Mission is to build, engage, enhance, and develop on the strength of millennials, so they can identify their true purpose, to positively impact their communities. We host live broadcasts through social media platforms providing millennials an opportunity to openly talk about issues that affect our generation. In addition, we strategically utilize every available avenue in efforts to raise awareness about social issues by involving millennials in a number of community service activities. We host several community events such as the Community-Wide Back-to-School Supply Giveaways, Community-Wide Easter Eggstravaganza, and Community-Wide Toy Giveaway. We believe this impact will not only set new standards within our community but will also be a positive byproduct that will create more generational leaders. In 2020, I started Business With Purpose Consulting LLC. Business with Purpose Consulting is designed to motivate and inspire small business entrepreneurs in developing an innovative marketing plan and a strategic business approach that focuses on their individual goals and aspirations. We offer the following services; social media management, social media setup, event management, business/social media consulting, resume, and business formation. No, it hasn’t always been easy. Obstacles are ubiquitous in everyday life. I had to overcome and still overcome many challenges in this life called entrepreneurship. We often don’t realize how much strength we have until we’re challenged to use it. Despite being presented with many obstacles/challenges throughout life, it hasn’t stopped me from exercising my entrepreneurial spirit. Today, I continue to remain persistent because success is inevitable. I’m grateful for every obstacle and challenge I’ve faced. It has only made me stronger in pursuing my God-Given Purpose!! I Am A Representation Of All 3 Brands!!
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ruth Chris Steak House would probably be my first stop. I absolutely love their food. Andretti Indoor Karting and Games would be my second stop. I feel like a big kid again, once I step into this building, The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I would like to dedicate my first shoutout to the Late Dr. Ann Hardman. She was a pioneer and a shaker in this region. I’ll never forget the words that she spoke over and into my life. I would like to dedicate my second shoutout to the Urban League Of Greater Columbus Young Professionals. They go hard for the underserved community and I’m truly grateful to be apart of this amazing organization.
