Meet Carolyn Riggins: Founder, Owner and Author

We had the good fortune of connecting with Carolyn Riggins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Carolyn, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
A great need of financial readiness was the thought process behind the starting of my own business called CDR Financial Consultant LLC. In 2020 when COVID-19 hit this entire country what I notice numerous individuals and businesses were struggling financially. A lot of them did not have the resources and tools to be successful sustaining the lifestyle or keeping their business open. There were countless individuals and businesses impacted financially from this type of pandemic that made life difficult for people to live a normal life. It was very painful for me to watch so many people suffer and not being able to survive a normal life or keep their business doors open. Many people needed funding to take care of their families as well as stay in business to serve their customers and keep their employees employed. That’s when I realized there was a need to prepare people to be financially ready for any type of major crisis that would impact their lives or businesses. Being in the financial industry for over 35 years, I no longer could watch anymore people suffering from financial readiness. I felt it was the right time and the opportunity for me to start my own business to help people be financially ready. It is my ultimate goal to make sure everyone is financially ready regardless of whatever life changing crisis they may experience in their lives or businesses.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
CDR Financial Consultant is a consulting company that develops coaching programs for businesses and individuals pertaining their financial readiness. What sets us apart from others is we deliver the best possible experience for our clients. We take pride in identifying financial gaps for businesses and individuals to become financially ready. We conduct unique action plans with our clients by identifying their financial gaps. For many people it can be difficult to find the right financial institution concerning your financial needs. Not every financial institution is the right fit for your financial needs. We provide 1on1 coaching assuring our clients the tools and resources they receive from CDR Financial Consultant will give them confidence, knowledge and most of all empowerments by selecting their choice for financial needs. We help identify alternative solutions regarding financial options. We also identified any major concerns for structure setup issues for any business. Also, we specialize in financial readiness with a master mind program for women who are transitioning out of the workforce or a life changing situation impacting their lives. Another specialty we offer is a financial literacy programs for families to help them identify ways they can help protect their generation wealth.

Throughout my 35 years being in the financial industry, I had the honor and privilege to observe so many businesses and individuals be successful as well as failures concerning their financial readiness. My business wise comes from curiosity of other success and failures. Discussing financial readiness can be a difficult subject for many to understand their finance can have a major impact on their lives if they make the wrong decisions. What I have learned throughout this process of being in business is to be patient. One of my biggest challenges to overcome in business is realizing it takes time to build client relationships.
What I want people to know about me that I am a breast cancer survivor. I am an author of a book called Kingdom Woman: A Moment with God. Also, I enjoy seeing people being happy when it comes to financial readiness. For my brand I want people to have the freedom and be prepared or financial readiness. We believe When the banks tell you “NO,” we prepare you for “YES”.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Georgia is amazing. I would tell you there’s so many things to do here and many places to go. I would have to say having friends coming to Georgia to see me one of the places I would definitely take them it’s called Gritz Family Restaurant. It’s located in McDonough Georgia. It is a family-owned small business very southern, comforting food and the price is right. My family and I always feel welcome when you go there and have breakfast until 3:00 o’clock PM. Another great place I would take my friends would be El Ranchero Mexican Grill and Bar located in Grayson GA. Great tasteful cozy restaurant. I love it because you get the atmosphere of being in a different country. The people are great, and the food is truly phenomenal. Because I am a nature person, I love being outside. I would also definitely take my friends to Alexander Park. There is so much to do there. You can take nature walks. You get to be with your family by having a picnic. You get to rollerblade there. Of course I would end my day with my friends hanging out from a long day. We would end up at SPUDZ restaurant again another family-owned restaurant. They are known for their awesome stuffed potatoes located Locust Grove Georgia.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, I must recognize my Lord and Savior Christ Jesus in my life. I am very grateful God has given me this opportunity to begin a new chapter in my life to start a business. Without his love and support I would not be able to take this faith walk in this journey of beginning my own business helping so many people regarding financial readiness. Secondly, I want to thank my family. My family has been a primary beam support helping me through this new journey in my life. My children have always supported me and encouraged me. My children Joshua, Raven and daughter in law Brittney has always said “Mom you deserve it and go for it.” For that reason I love them very much. I also want to thank my siblings. They have been a great encouragement for me. They too would say it is possible, live your dreams and never stop.” I also want to thank my mother. My mother is a prime example of someone who never stops believing in me. She has always been there to show me the importance and encouraged me daily that I can do it. I cannot forget a special shout out to a mentor and a sister who has been so awesome in my life. Tonia Morris my mentor, my coach and my warrior. She has been phenomenal showing me what it’s like to be a business owner and I appreciate her for that reason. She never gives up on me. She encourages me daily and pushes me into my greatest potential to be who I am regarding my business. For that purpose I thank her.
