Meet Cameron Little | Gospel Recording Artist

We had the good fortune of connecting with Cameron Little and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Cameron, what do you attribute your success to?
The primary factor contributing to my success is the ability to distinctly hear the voice of Jesus Christ guiding me on how to effectively utilize the musical talents bestowed upon me, while maintaining a commitment to transparency. Initially, I struggled to recognize His voice; despite being raised in the church and having a preacher as a parent, I did not fully comprehend the divine communication. One day, I earnestly prayed, asking the Lord to help me hear His voice clearly. In February 2022, I experienced a breakthrough when I truly heard His voice, which inspired the song “You Saved Me Lord,” featured on my latest EP, “My Portion.” Therefore, I attribute my current success to the profound experience of hearing God’s voice after fervently seeking His guidance.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
In 2022, I released my first single titled “You Save Me, Lord.” Following this, in 2023, I launched my second single, “Just Hold On.” As I approached April 2024, I released my debut EP entitled “My Portion,” which features a track called “Do It for Me.” This song has received multiple nominations and was highlighted on the remarkable Lisa Knowles Smith’s Friday feature, as well as on Montrae Tisdale Johnson’s Oklahoma’s leading gospel station, gaining traction on the media base gospel charts.
I was also honored to be a special guest at the Atlanta City Winery, sharing the stage with prominent gospel artists such as Vashawn Mitchell, Tiunna Lemons, and Stephen Hurd. Taking a significant leap of faith, I joined The Victorious Army in Atlanta, under the guidance of Grammy and Stellar multi-nominee Vincent Bohanan. This experience has proven to be one of the most rewarding opportunities of my life, allowing me to travel the world and share the message of Jesus Christ with my beloved family.
The journey has not been without its challenges; I have faced difficulties, including financial losses related to live concerts, guest artist accommodations, and travel arrangements. However, I view these experiences as blessings, as they have imparted valuable lessons that continue to support my career. I aspire for the world to hear my story of overcoming generational curses and childhood trauma. Regardless of the challenges one may face, whether great or small, it is essential to remember that through Jesus Christ, you possess the power to become the best version of yourself.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
In my view, one of the top dining spots in Birmingham is a place known as Rock ‘n’ Roll Sushi. My personal favorite dish there is the Sweet Home Alabama roll. I also have a passion for bowling and a deep appreciation for history, particularly in the local civil rights district. This area features significant sites like the 16th Street Baptist Church, where the tragic bombing of four little girls occurred, as well as the Civil Rights Institute and the A.J. Gaston Hotel. Additionally, I love a thrilling action movie, and of course, we can’t forget to include church in the mix of all these wonderful activities.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Certainly, my esteemed friend and brother, Montrae Tisdale Johnson, has been an exceptional source of support, guidance, and information. Montrae serves as a prime example of embracing risks and refusing to accept defeat, remaining unfazed by the negativity that may arise from others’ opinions. Despite his impressive résumé and numerous achievements, he never makes me feel inferior. I recognize that I can sometimes be overwhelming with my inquiries about the industry, seeking insights that could enhance my brand. Nevertheless, he consistently addresses all my questions and makes himself available, despite his busy schedule in both his music career and personal life. I am profoundly thankful and appreciative to have him in my life, not only as a mentor but also as a true friend and brother.
