We had the good fortune of connecting with Bulinda Wright-Jones and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Bulinda, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
It actually feels like it’s in my DNA. I guess you can call me a Serial Entrepreneur. I have had multiple businesses in my lifetime from making custom-made gift baskets, personal travel concierge, Noni product distributor, natural cleaning products, health supplements, event planner, caterer, and now I’m the owner of Keep Looking Up with B. Wright-Jones, LLC where I’m a certified life coach, published author, blogger, global speaker, and podcast host.

I have always desired the freedom of being my own boss. I have had some great jobs in my past, but my freedom was limited in taking off when I needed to. I’ve also had some not-so-great experiences. From those experiences, I realized that the only person that will really appreciate me and what I have to offer and will make sure that I am being taken care of is me.

I had lost myself in working a 9 to 5 and was experiencing a high level of stress which made me take that leap of faith in starting my own business. I decided that my peace, freedom, and happiness were more important to me than a regular paycheck. I’m very happy with my decision and the results that I’m seeing with my own eyes.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the CEO of Keep Looking Up with B. Wright-Jones, LLC. I love everything I do in my business on a daily basis.

I get extremely excited when I see the progress that my clients are making. I know that God has called me to do this. I’m really proud of myself for not giving up when it looked like everything was falling apart. After my divorce, I wasn’t really sure how I was going to make it and what my life was going to look like. I’m so happy to say that my decision to keep going and to not give up on myself or life has shown me that challenges will come and sometimes life will knock you down, but if you keep looking up and never give up you will succeed.

I’m walking in my purpose serving Christian women who have been betrayed, labeled, and shunned because of their past mistakes and failures. I totally understand and have been there. I’m helping these women deal with issues of low self-esteem, and behaviors that are keeping them stuck because of the negative mindset they have taken on. These women have listened to the negative commentary of others for way too long and I show them how to renew their minds to what God says about them so they can walk in their purpose with clarity, confidence, and power.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I just discovered where you can get the best seafood and vibe. I would have to take them to Hook & Reel Cajun Seafood Restaurant and Bar in the Northeast for a fabulous seafood dinner and cocktails. Then we would have to catch a live show at the Dell Music Center, a beautiful amphitheater located in Fairmount Park that offers the very best in musical entertainment.

We would head to Atlantic City, NJ for the weekend to enjoy some of the beautiful casino hotels, and then take a drive over to Ocean City NJ to enjoy the boardwalk and sunny beach. Lastly, I would have to take them to Saudia Shuler’s Country Cookin Restaurant located in the Fresh Grocer on Monument Rd in Philadelphia. Saudia is a celebrity chef and she is known around the world for her amazing soul food. She is also well known for her contributions and generosity to our communities, youth, and seniors.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I have to shoutout my mom because she is my biggest cheerleader and support. When I have those down moments, she is always there to lift me back up. Then I want to shoutout Joyce Meyer, Joel Osteen, T.D. Jakes. and my local Pastor friend B. Michelle Horton. These four spiritual leaders and authors feed my soul and keep me lifted and moving forward in faith. I have a strong spiritual belief and this is a very important aspect of my life. Next is my business coach Brenda Byers who has been a Godsend in my life. She showed up at the right time and she is keeping me focused and moving in the right direction with my business. Her knowledge and years of experience have opened up my mind and has caused me to think differently about myself, my business, and my relationship with God. I have to shoutout my clients and thank them for believing in me and giving me the opportunity to pour into their lives. I want to thank my friends, family, and associates who support me.

Lastly, I have to thank God for always loving me, guiding me, helping me through life. and giving me the vision. I thank God for all of these wonderful people and their influence over my life. I’m ever so grateful.
