Meet Brian Smith | CEO/Founder

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brian Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brian, what are you inspired by?
I’m inspired by people who have goals and ambitions and want to help our race, our people, our community to be GREAT. I come from an era where we as a race want to see our young black kings and queens succeed. Were so focused on what the next man got or what the next person is doing that we lose focus on OURSELVES, and develop this feeling called HATE. Hate is so real to the point that lives are being taken over something simple as shoes, clothes, money. So, what do we do as a race? No more breaking each other down, we also need to stick together because believe it or not “BLACK UNITY IS THE BIGGEST THREAT TO NATIONAL SECURITY”, and we can’t seem to get that concept as black people. Everything we purchase needs to be black, we need to support our black businesses, our black colleges, our black nonprofits, and our black communities. Thats what inspires me.

Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
The Blueheart Foundation 334 is different because we focus on helping underprivileged families in the Montgomery area, and we also help drive our younger generation on how important marching band is. We hold different events to keep our kids motivated, and mentor them to be successful and always give back to the next man. I want the world to understand that Marching Band isn’t only about banging on a drum or playing a horn, Marching Band teaches you discipline, teamwork, and dedication. The Blueheart Foundation 334 helps all who needs help, and we make sure we support all music programs from high schools all the way up to the University level.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If you come to Montgomery during football season I would take you to,
1. Joes Again on Fairview Ave (The best Hamburger in the city)
2. Campus of Alabama State University (where you would here the best band in the land The Alabama State University Marching Hornets
3. Alabama State University Tailgate, is where you would find old friends, and possibly new friends lol
4. Shoppes at Eastchase after the game so that you can get your shop on.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate my shoutout to the entire city of Montgomery, Alabama. If it wasn’t for this city I personally wouldn’t be here right now. Montgomery is in my DNA, Montgomery is the birthplace of the civil rights movement, Montgomery has giving me the platform to be GREAT, to be INSPIRING, and to MENTOR our young black kings and queens in this city. Montgomery also has a lot of musicians and high school marching band programs and without these vital high sch0ol marching band programs like Carver, Lanier, JAG, Percy Julian, Park Crossing kids in Montgomery would be lost, in jail, or dead. Montgomery is a special place, and I am proud to be a kid from Ridgecrest who has big dreams for Ridgecrest and Montgomery.
