Meet Brandi Williams

We had the good fortune of connecting with Brandi Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Brandi, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
My thought process behind starting Williams Accounting & Tax Services LLC was rooted in two core beliefs: that financial education should be accessible to everyone, and that accounting professionals deserve a supportive environment where they can truly thrive.
For years, I saw individuals and small business owners struggle—not because they lacked ambition, but because they lacked clear, trustworthy financial guidance. I wanted to create a firm that didn’t just prepare taxes or produce reports, but one that empowered people with the knowledge to make confident financial decisions. Education is at the center of everything we do. Whether it’s helping a new entrepreneur understand their tax obligations or guiding a family through year‑round planning, my goal has always been to simplify the complex and make financial literacy a standard, not a luxury.
At the same time, I wanted to build a workplace where accounting professionals could grow without the pressure, burnout, or rigid culture that often comes with the industry. Creating a comfortable, collaborative environment—one that values mentorship, continuous learning, and work‑life balance—was just as important to me as serving clients. When employees feel supported, they do their best work, and clients feel that difference.
Ultimately, starting my own business allowed me to merge these two passions: educating and uplifting the community, and cultivating a team that feels proud, confident, and inspired in their careers.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Williams Accounting & Tax Services LLC was built with a simple but powerful mission: to make financial education accessible and to provide high‑quality accounting services in a way that feels personal, supportive, and empowering. What sets us apart is our commitment to teaching as much as we serve. I don’t just prepare taxes or deliver financial reports—I help individuals and small business owners understand the “why” behind their numbers so they can make confident, informed decisions year‑round.
I’m especially proud of the environment I’ve created for both clients and employees. For clients, I strive to remove the fear and confusion that often surround finances. For my team, I’ve built a workplace where accounting professionals can grow, learn, and thrive without the burnout or rigid culture that’s so common in this industry. Creating a space where people feel supported—whether they’re trusting me with their finances or building their careers—has been one of my greatest accomplishments.
Getting to where I am today wasn’t easy. Like many entrepreneurs, I faced moments of uncertainty, long nights, and the challenge of balancing growth with quality. But I overcame those obstacles by staying grounded in my purpose, leaning on my professional network, and continuously investing in my own education. Every challenge pushed me to refine my processes, strengthen my systems, and show up with even more clarity and resilience.
Along the way, I’ve learned that consistency matters more than perfection, that relationships are the foundation of any successful business, and that transparency builds trust faster than any marketing strategy ever could. I’ve also learned that people don’t just want a service—they want a partner who listens, understands, and genuinely cares about their success.
What I want the world to know about my brand is that Williams Accounting & Tax Services LLC is more than an accounting firm. It’s a place where people are educated, supported, and empowered. It’s a business built on integrity, compassion, and a deep belief that financial literacy can change lives. My story is one of perseverance, purpose, and a commitment to serving my community with excellence—and I’m excited for what’s still ahead.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My best friend actually lives here in metro-Atlanta, and we regularly experience the energy, culture, and flavor that make Atlanta such a special place to call home. Since we both love concerts, sports, festivals, and good food, the itinerary would be a perfect blend of everything the city does best.
We’d kick things off with a Falcons game at Mercedes‑Benz Stadium—because nothing sets the tone like that electric Atlanta crowd. From there, the week would be filled with live music at venues like State Farm Arena, Center Stage, or the iconic Tabernacle. Atlanta always has someone performing, whether it’s a major artist or an up‑and‑coming local talent, so we’d pick a show and make a night of it.
Food is a must, so we’d hit some of my favorite spots around the city. Brunch at places like Toast on Lenox or Breakfast at Barney’s, dinner at a great Black‑owned restaurant, and maybe a night exploring the food stalls at Ponce City Market. We’d mix in a few rooftop lounges for drinks—somewhere with a skyline view to remind us why Atlanta stays unmatched.
Since we love festivals, we’d check out whatever is happening that week—Atlanta always has something going on, whether it’s a music festival, a food and wine event, or a cultural celebration in one of the city’s neighborhoods. And because we both enjoy professional networking, we’d make time for one of the many business mixers or industry events hosted around the city. Atlanta’s networking scene is vibrant and full of ambitious, creative people, so it’s always a great way to connect and be inspired.
We’d wrap up the week with something relaxing but memorable—maybe a stroll on the BeltLine, a visit to Piedmont Park, or a chill evening at a local lounge with good music and even better vibes- Poetry Nights. One of my favorite parts of the city is its spoken‑word and poetry scene, so we’d definitely make time for a poetry night. Whether it’s Queen Sheba’s legendary sets, MellowVzn’s unique performances, or one of the many open‑mic nights at City Winery, Apache, The Betty, May Peel, or countless other creative spaces, Atlanta’s poetry community always delivers something powerful and unforgettable.
To me, the most exciting part of Atlanta isn’t just the places—it’s the people. The city is full of culture, creativity, and community. Whether you’re cheering at a game, dancing at a concert, or sharing a meal, Atlanta has a way of making every moment feel alive. That’s the experience I’d want my best friend to take home with them.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
There are several people who deserve recognition in my story, because Williams Accounting & Tax Services LLC was never built alone. First and foremost, my son has been my greatest source of motivation. Every step I’ve taken—every late night, every new opportunity, every challenge I pushed through—was fueled by the desire to show him what perseverance, integrity, and purpose look like in real time. He reminds me daily why this work matters and why creating generational stability and knowledge is so important.
I also owe a tremendous amount of gratitude to my professional network, especially my mentor Ericka Williams. Their guidance has shaped not only how I lead, but how I think, grow, and navigate the complexities of entrepreneurship. Having someone who believes in your potential, challenges you to stretch, and shares wisdom from their own journey is invaluable. Their support has helped me build a business rooted in excellence, education, and service.
And of course, my friends—those who have encouraged me, celebrated my wins, and stood by me during the tough seasons—deserve recognition as well. Their support has been a steady reminder that I’m surrounded by people who want to see me succeed, not just as a business owner but as a person.
Each of these individuals has played a meaningful role in my story, and I’m deeply grateful. Their belief in me has helped me build a business that reflects not only my vision, but the love, support, and community behind it.
