We had the good fortune of connecting with Big Rho and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Big, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
About my career I consider myself a producer, beatmaker, songwriter and an occasional artist. I like to think of music as a style of art and although it’s difficult to create sometimes, I think that’s what makes the craft so much more interesting. I’ve always had an ear for music and I’ve always been drawn to it since I was young by being in the band, the drum line, orchestra and even more extracurricular activities pertaining to the art. All of my encounters with different forms of music have led me to where I am today and will hopefully lead me on to the greater heights of which I’m expecting to reach.
I Honestly want to create a legacy for myself, for people to look back and know I actually made an impact whether it’s in music or in the lives of others. I want to be able to be the biggest doing my own thing and get wealthy while doing it, allowing myself, my parents & also allowing my loved ones to enjoy nothing but luxury in life.
Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’m proud to be able to see how much I’ve grown from when I first started my music journey. Although it wasn’t easy and I’m extremely proud of where I’ve gotten to, i still have a long road ahead of me with a whole lot more to learn.
I’ve learned to never take not one single opportunity for granted.. if there’s no physical or financial benefit from the opportunity, take it as a time to learn mentally and use it as fuel to better yourself and grow.
As far as my brand, I created the name APM which stands for All Profit Matters. The brand Is a production collective I came up with for people who I think may have different styles of income or “profit” but ultimately have the end goal to become a big name within the entertainment industry whether it’s music, film or whatever other arts the genre may contain and leave their mark & legacy for others to look at and be motivated to walk in our footsteps or even strive to be greater than us all.
If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
For a week long trip I’d say you definitely have to first get some brunch at Gochas Breakfast Bar, they have so much options you could eat there for brunch everyday! For dinner I’d recommend Rays in the City if you’re a seafood lover! Then for different activities I’d recommend, Ponce City market for great food and activities, Skyview Atlanta for some nice scenery, iFly for some indoor skydiving, Cascade for some hometown roller skating, Urban Air if you’re in to indoor trampoline parks and you have to catch an Atlanta Hawks game during the season!
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I’d have to give kudos to my parents for allowing me to find myself over the years. I’ve been very indecisive about the things I’ve wanted to do in life & without judgement they’ve allowed me the space to finally zone in on what it is I love to do most. I also have to give a shout-out to the friends in my life that encourage me daily to keep going, the ones that support unconditionally and never let me fall without making me pick myself back up.
