We had the good fortune of connecting with Aubri Ebony Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Aubri Ebony, what role has risk played in your life or career?
I think risk play a huge role in my career. I’ve always betted on myself and put energy into believing in what I feel is capable of doing. Instead of a traditional career after graduating with my Master’s in Marriage, Couple & Family counseling, I’ve always wanted to create a path where I provided mental health counseling to creatives. Starting with the modeling industry as The Model Counselor and now entering a new space where I create space for conversations on mental health on all media channels, focusing on entertainment.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
I’ll start with my Proof of Concept “D. Diary” which is my “Awkward Black Girl” version of a larger show I’m working to get picked up. Honestly, it has been a “walk by faith” journey, ultimately being led by Source/God and the path is never easy. It takes believing in you and your vision and not being deterred. But it started with an experience, that turned into a script, that turned into a movie, that turned into an award winning concept at NATPE, that turned into a piece of art that now streams on Tubi & Amazon Prime, that is now on its way to a more developed version for a larger platform. I aspire to blend mental health and narratives because the world deserves a show that will help them understand themselves and give them insight on understanding others.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’d start with a good brunch, no specific location but bottomless mimosas are a must. Then some artsy vibes, maybe hang out in little 5 points. Dinner at one of my fave sushi or Italian spots in Atlanta. And if she’s in the mood, let’s dance! Either oldies or Afrobeats depending on the mood she’s in.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My brother Ajie Attawia had been an avid supporter in my journey. He’s helped me get some of my early media equipment and has always been supportive of who I aim to be. The book “Think & Grow Rich” has also reshaped my thinking and ever since discovering Abraham Hicks in 2023, the teachings have reshaped my mindset and focus.
