We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Keyes and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?

In an era marked by medical advancements, the elusive cure for obesity remains undiscovered. However, we possess the power of choice. It’s time for America to prioritize nutrition over financial gains and strategic meal planning over instant gratification. Each community and every family must commit to ensuring that children receive the guidance and support necessary to make enduring choices for a joyful and healthier life. Stepping up to meet this challenge, The Center Helping Obesity In Children End Successfully, Inc. (C.H.O.I.C.E.S.) is poised to embrace the responsibility.

Beyond our dedication to combating childhood obesity, C.H.O.I.C.E.S. extends its impact to address food insecurity in Atlanta, Georgia. This year alone, we have proudly distributed over 1.5 million meals, recognizing the urgent need to alleviate hunger and nourish our community. Born in April 2002, our grassroots organization remains steadfast in confronting the alarming epidemic of childhood obesity and tirelessly working towards fostering a healthier, more resilient future for all.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?

In my life, I’ve been fortunate to have incredible leaders and mentors who have shaped my journey both spiritually and professionally. It all began at age 15, working in the kitchen alongside Chef Marvin Woods and Chef Desmond Fannin, where I absorbed valuable lessons in culinary arts. Fast forward to the present, and my go-to source for entrepreneurship expertise is my uncle, Mack Wilbourn, who boasts over 50 years of invaluable experience in the hospitality industry. Beyond the realms of business, I’ve found profound spiritual guidance from my mentor, Pastor Brandyn C. Pierce. These influences have played a pivotal role in shaping my perspective, and I continue to draw inspiration from their wisdom in both my personal and professional endeavors.
