We had the good fortune of connecting with Ashley Harris and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Ashley, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
My artistic journey is deeply rooted in my childhood, where I was surrounded by strong women and elders who showered me with love, care, and encouragement to express myself. Growing up in the vibrant cultural landscape of New Orleans, Louisiana, within a large Creole family, I absorbed the richness of music, dance, art, and fashion. This colorful upbringing inspired me to dive into the world of creativity and self-expression.

What should our readers know about your business?
My name is Ashley Harris, and I am the founder and CEO of Crowns Enchanted. I often describe myself as the Holistic Hair Goddess, Intuitive Reader, and Master Stylist—but at the heart of it, I am a teacher and a student. I’ve spent over a decade cultivating not only the art of hairstyling, but also the science and spirituality of holistic beauty and wellness.
What sets Crowns Enchanted apart is that we don’t just “do hair”—we honor it as sacred. Hair is an extension of the nervous system, a powerful antenna that connects us to higher consciousness. At Crowns Enchanted, we combine advanced scalp spa technology, aromatherapy, herbal remedies, and energy work to heal from the root, while guiding our clients to maintain the health of their Crown Chakra and overall aura. My salon and brand create a soothing, stress-free atmosphere where clients don’t just leave with beautiful hair—they leave recharged, confident, and spiritually aligned.
My journey to this point was not easy. Growing up, I often felt like the black sheep in my family and community. I experienced rejection, bullying, trauma, and felt unseen and unheard. Those hardships forced me to look inward, to heal my own wounds through journaling, self-discovery, and holistic practices. The pain became my teacher—it pushed me to mine the jewel within and find my true calling. That’s why I am so committed to serving those who feel overlooked or misunderstood. Crowns Enchanted is a sanctuary for the “black sheep”—the visionaries, the creatives, the ones who need a reminder that they are more than enough.
The challenges of entrepreneurship have been real. Building a brand that fuses beauty, wellness, and spirituality meant educating people on an unconventional path. At times, it was difficult to explain why energy healing, scalp therapy, or herbal rituals were just as important as styling. But I overcame those challenges by staying rooted in my story, continuing to educate myself, and consistently showing results for my clients. I’ve learned that authenticity, consistency, and courage are the pillars of success.
What I’m most proud of is how Crowns Enchanted has become more than a salon—it’s a holistic beauty ecosystem. From spa-grade services and digital products to community education and events, we are redefining what beauty can mean when it’s rooted in mind, body, and soul alignment.
What I want the world to know is that Crowns Enchanted isn’t just about growing hair; it’s about growing people. It’s about helping individuals reclaim their confidence, step into their true essence, and radiate love and vitality from the inside out. My story is proof that even the deepest wounds can transform into powerful medicine for the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
My favorite spots in the city are the local spas, gym, dance studios, smoothie shops, raw food restaurants, coffee shops, whole food groceries, and hiking sites.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I give a huge shoutout to my many mentors along the way. Just to name a few Justin Burns, Emme Rain, Harambee House Of Wellness, and all of the women and men in my family you guys have imprinted on me in ways that I will forever cherish. Much gratitude and love!
