We had the good fortune of connecting with Ariana Colonel and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Ariana, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my “success”, was believing in myself. Posting on social media was never a problem the problem lied within sharing my passion for fashion and the opinions that others may have on my content. The thought of that brought down my confidence, until I sat down with myself and broke down why I felt that way about social media and others opinion. Believing in yourself is key to any success. Without it I personally think I would’ve been still stuck in a mentality that’s not healthy and weighted down on my self esteem. Choosing to believing in yourself, not only shows in the way you act, but the way you appear, they way you speak and present yourself. Everything starts with you making that first move and believing that no matter what career, project, content that you may want to purse will succeed.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My art is fashion and styling. I liked to believe what sets me apart from others is myself. I’m most excited about the upcoming brand deals and model gigs I have in store this 2024. Getting to where I am in life for me was definitely a roller coaster of emotions. I was faced with many challenges revolving around my mental health, my personal life and school finances, however I overcame these challenges by just taking a breather and tackled one problem at a time, and eventually everything did work its way out. I’ve learned so many lessons, the best one is what to prioritize and what not to, that honestly the best lesson I could’ve learned and what I want to share most. I would like the world to know that fashion is international and one of the best ways to express yourself, always be original and be true to you.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
Living in Georgia, I personally think there’s so much to do. For breakfast my go to would have to be Waffle House, it’s really a Southside classic. Next for some activities my personal favorites are, Six Flags and visiting the Sweet water trail/lake. For lunch I’d go with Chipotle or Chick Fil A then settling down at colony square which is a huge plaza / shopping mall that also have great restaurants you can choose for dinner.
The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I want to dedicate this opportunity to my friends and most importantly my parents Teresa and John. My friends are a key factor to why I’m able to film and release fashion content. When I’m filming 9 times out of 10 , they are behind the camera cheering me on and telling me to always do what I love and never be afraid to do that. My parents are the reason I’m into fashion and styling. My mom growing loved to dress me up in nice clothing and present myself in the way I love. My dad tells me everyday to do what I love and never apologize for doing that. His words of encouragement and my mother’s action lead me to the place I’m at now. Last but not least I really wanna give a huge shoutout to me, Ariana Patricia Colonel. After all the mental health and physical health obstacles I’ve faced, I liked to thank myself for never ever giving and up and maintaining my passion and always staying to true to myself.
