We had the good fortune of connecting with AnnaLisa Chavez and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi AnnaLisa, we’d love to hear more about how you thought about starting your own business?
I started my business for a couple reasons. My primary job (Creative Director at Newnan City Church) is obviously my first priority, but I wanted to be able to share that same creativity with as many people as possible! AL Photography, Videography, & Design LLC allows me to take my ministry through my gifts and talents anywhere!

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My entrance into the creative world began with photographing church services. From there it grew into lifestyle and portrait photography, then videography, and finally graphic design. I learned as I went for the first couple of years, before deciding in the middle of my senior year of college to change my major toward creative media. I believe the humble beginnings of my creative journey set me up well for a successful and unique career as a creative.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
There are so many incredible spots around the city, it’s near impossible to choose just a few! As for food, I would definitely say Yard House and Fogo de Chao. A few of my favorite spots include anywhere along the Beltline, the Georgia Aquarium, and Ponce City Market.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Growing up, I never imagined I would find myself doing anything in the creative realm. I was an athlete through and through. When I sustained a softball career- ending injury in college, I had close to no idea what was next for my life. At the time I was at ThreeLife Church in LaGrange, GA. One day, the Production Director, Drew Middlebrooks, randomly handed me a camera. From there, the pastors of ThreeLife, Josh and Amanda Rhye, fostered my budding talent for creative media. I owe special thanks to Drew, Josh, and Amanda, for teaching me, encouraging me, and pushing me to be my best creative self.
