Hi Amya, other than deciding to work for yourself, what else do you think played a pivotal role in your story?
The most significant decision that contributed to my success was the deliberate choice to embrace calculated risks, break free from the generational patterns that had previously defined my path, and cultivate a deep-seated resilience. By strategically navigating uncertainty, I was able to transcend limitations and forge a new narrative for myself. This commitment to growth and perseverance allowed me to not only overcome obstacles but also to create opportunities where they did not previously exist not only for myself but those around me as well.
Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My career journey has been a unique blend of technology and creativity, centered around my roles as an IT specialist and a videographer. What sets me apart is my ability to seamlessly integrate technical expertise with creative vision, allowing me to solve complex problems while telling compelling visual stories.
In the realm of IT, I’ve honed my skills in troubleshooting, systems management, and technical support. My passion for helping others navigate the complexities of technology is what drives me, ensuring that I not only provide solutions but also empower those I work with to understand and effectively use the tools at their disposal. This approach has earned me the trust of my coach and respect of my cohort members, who know they can rely on me to deliver both technical precision and empathetic support.
On the other side of my career, camera production has allowed me to explore my creative side, capturing moments and stories that resonate on a deeper level. I’ve always been fascinated by the power of visual storytelling, and through my work in cinematography, I’ve been able to bring that passion to life. Whether it’s crafting a narrative for a nonprofit or creating content that engages and inspires, I take pride in the ability to connect with audiences through the lens.
Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’d create an itinerary that offers a perfect blend of the city’s rich history, vibrant culture, and diverse culinary scene. Atlanta has a lot to offer, from iconic landmarks to hidden gems.
Morning: Begin the day at the High Museum of Art, home to an extensive collection of classic and contemporary works…truly a must-see for art lovers!
Lunch: Enjoy lunch at South City Kitchen, where you can experience refined Southern cuisine. Their fried chicken is fireeeee.
Afternoon: Take a stroll through Piedmont Park, It’s the perfect spot for people-watching, with beautiful gardens and scenic views of the city. Visit the nearby Atlanta Botanical Garden to see exotic plants, seasonal exhibits.
Evening: Go to The Vortex in Little Five Points for a quirky dining experience. They have massive burgers, it’s a favorite among locals and visitors. Afterward, maybe go to the drive in movies.
Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My journey has been shaped by the unwavering support and love of my loved ones and family. They are the bedrock upon which my success has been built, offering me encouragement during moments of doubt and celebrating every victory, no matter how small. My family taught me the values of perseverance, hard work, and integrity, instilling in me the belief that I could achieve anything I set my mind to.
Their sacrifices, wisdom, and constant presence have been a guiding light, helping me navigate the challenges and uncertainties that come with pursuing my dreams. It is because of them that I have had the courage to take risks and the strength to overcome obstacles. In every step of my journey, their influence is deeply woven into the fabric of my achievements, and for that, they deserve the utmost credit and recognition in my story.
