We had the good fortune of connecting with Amazon Godezz and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amazon, why did you pursue a creative career?
I pursued a creative career because my father always gifted me instruments and audio engineering software, encouraging me to explore my artistic side. Watching my brother rise as a rapper in Atlanta inspired me further, showing me the power of music and support from family.

After earning a collegiate award in public speaking, I initially focused on that path. However, a good friend convinced me that I could combine public speaking with my passion for music. This realization led me to start rapping and singing about my experiences with domestic violence, homelessness, and gun violence. Music became my outlet for expressing pain and sharing my story, while also addressing social issues. It’s a way for me to connect with others and find joy in the process.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What sets me apart is that I’m unapologetically myself. I create whatever I feel in the moment—one minute I might produce a rap song, and the next, something funny. My journey to where I am today has been fueled by motivation and surrounding myself with supportive people who believe in my craft, all while keeping God at the center.

Overcoming challenges hasn’t been easy, but I’ve learned to trust in God and the power of manifestation. One important lesson I’ve taken away is that everyone’s path unfolds at different times. It’s crucial not to feel discouraged if goals aren’t achieved on a specific timeline; success is inevitable when it’s meant to happen.

I want the world to know that Amazon Godezz is dedicated to supporting social issues through music, using my art as a means of healing and fun. While there can only be one Amazon Godezz, everyone has the potential to be a God or Godezz. God dwells not only in the sky but within each of us. Embrace that energy to create and manifest the reality you desire.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
If my best friend were visiting for a week, I’d create an itinerary full of good energy and great food. We’d start with sushi at home and explore the city, enjoying brunch at a lively spot, visiting art galleries, and hiking scenic trails. Evenings would include trendy dinners, rooftop drinks, and live music events. We’d also hit up local markets, breweries, and try unique street food, all while hosting a cozy gathering at home. It would be a week of meaningful experiences, delicious meals, and unforgettable moments together.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to dedicate my shoutout to God, because without God,there is no Godezz. I also want to recognize my children, who are my biggest fans and keep me motivated every day. A huge thanks to Family Wealth Moguls for their support as my label. I’m grateful for fellow artists like Itz Luv Shawty, who inspire me to keep pushing, and Jackie Stephenson for including me in my first benefit concert lineup. Each of these people has played a crucial role in my journey, and I couldn’t have made it this far without them.
