We had the good fortune of connecting with Amari Williams and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amari, why did you pursue a creative career?
I believe I chose to pursue an artistic/creative career because some of the qualities I have in myself would be best used in these types of jobs. I also feel that my artistic talents and creative mindset would help me strive in any career path. Growing up, I always wanted to be different than everyone else, which forced me to get creative. Whether it came to clothes, drawings, or even painting on shoes I was always trying to add my twist on things.

What should our readers know about your business?
When you are all alone at night in your deepest thoughts, you feel invincible. You dream of doing things you one day hope to accomplish. With no boundaries, setbacks, or obstacles holding you back, you feel that you are truly bound to do what you’ve always wanted to do and be who you’ve always wanted to be. The process of creating After Dark was not easy at all especially with me being a one-man brand, but I still was successful in defeating my challenges. Some of these challenges included having the exact products I want through manufacturers, not enough advertising and marketing, and dealing with site problems. With a little bit of time and communication though these problems were easily able to be resolved. I also can’t forget the help of my friends through this process too because without them, I’d still possibly be facing some of these challenges. Now we are a fast-growing small business with products ready to sell and social media pages promoting our inventory in different places all around the world. On top of that we also can do manufacturing needs now for any other business or companies. The overall success of After Dark has been substantial. So the big question now is, when it’s time, will the real you shine?

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m in the city of Atlanta, so there are trillions of things to do for anyone wanting to see the area After Dark started in. My all-time favorite thing to do in Atlanta is go to The Battery due to there being multiple things to do there. The first thing I’d do is take them to Wahlburgers and get the biggest burger they serve. They are the best burgers ever made. Then we’d walk to the Braves Gift Shop and go get geared up for the Braves Game we are about to watch. After a few purchases, I’d lead us to our seats where we would watch some of the most well-played baseball your eyes could witness. in real life. After witnessing the Braves win a great game our stomachs might be a little hungry again so we’d walk over to Blaze’s Pizza and devour a nice pepperoni pizza. Then to end the night off I’d take us to PBR to get a couple of drinks to enjoy the Braves winning their game with some of the other Braves fans. We’d then get an Uber ride home and call it a night.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My friends around me with nonstop support and love for my mission, deserve the most recognition in my story. I’ve had a tremendous amount of support from all my friends with them wearing my pieces, modeling for them, and posting on their socials in my products. When I initially started my business, the publicity I received from my friends supporting my products was more than enough to get my brand’s name out there. I can’t thank them enough for this and the continuous support they still provide me to this day.
