We had the good fortune of connecting with Amani Billups and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Amani, what do you attribute your success to?
The most important factor behind my success is my authenticity. I am someone who values my own personality and my own style , regardless of other creators or the pressure I may be under. I am and will always be true to myself and my brand , with also showing love and appreciation to all creators. That also keeps expanding my business and opening doors to new opportunities.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
What I think sets me apart from others is my work ethic. I believe most people couldn’t handle the workload that I have, while also delivering quality work in a fast time to multiple different clients. I am most proud of how far I’ve came in a year with my art, the fast improvement and learning that I’ve done really showed me how dedicated I was to my art, and it shows. I am most excited about the new people I continue to meet and the places I’ll be going to show my art I’ll never get tired of that. I got where I am today professionally with good genuine people around me and my consistency, as well as my work ethic. it was not easy at all because there’s so many other creatives in the world, you just have to find your style and what makes you stick out, and sometimes that’s really hard to do. I overcame that by being very observant to others and respecting their craft before I started to really expand my art. I am someone who likes to always be different and respectful to the ones who came before me. Ive learned that keeping good and healthy business relationships is key. You may never know who that person knows but if you keep a consistent and quality relationship with all people you come in business with there’s no telling the doors they can open for you.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
This is a hard question because it’s so much to do!! For one places to eat would be some my favourites like Fatt Matts, Pappadeaux’s , and my favourite of them all Don Nacho’s (Mexican food is the best). I would definitely take my best friend to places like top golf , if a female (Botanical garden) , a male definitely gotta hit a braves game. Six flags is always fun , or any like arcade with bowling inside. When it comes to drinking I’ve been to a lot of places , I do love wine and one place that’s a vibe is Big door Vineyards , nice view and a lot of options based on what you like wine wise. The Buckhead bars are always lit on the weekends and believe it or not some of my favourite places to get drinks is Mexican restaurants or Taco Mac they make the best long islands.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
First, my friends Victoria and David Mahone. They’re both creators in their own way, but when I first started these two never not answered questions for me and always gave me tips when I asked for some. Second, a guy who really gave me my first opportunity to expand my brand, Coach Saunders. This man believed in me from the beginning and has been genuine since I met him, and continues to find me more and more people to work with. These people definitely deserve a shoutout for my story.
