Meet Amanda Bailey | Aesthetic RN Injector.

We had the good fortune of connecting with Amanda Bailey and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Amanda, what’s something about your industry that outsiders are probably unaware of?
A common misconception is that clinical professionals such as RNs, PAs, or NPs with previous experience at hospitals can just take a class in Aesthetics and get right into it. It’s not that easy. An 8 hour training is not enough to get in with the big guys. Experience in aesthetics is required almost everywhere, and wanting 1-2 years. It really takes self motivation, additional training, even shadowing, and then having someone take a chance on you to train you in the ways of safety and art. I luckily had access to inject at a small Medspa in Buckhead, after taking 2 trainings which I paid for myself, and shadowing the current injector. It wasn’t much, but it got me started, and helped me get hands on experience.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My story starts as a Beside nurse, but specifically in the ICU the last decade. I started at a tiny hospital in Chatsworth, GA in January of 2011. They also took a chance on me, since I had no prior experience, other than clinical rotations. The next 13 years would turn me into a very experienced Critical Care Nurse, until co-owning a Medspa from 2022-2023. I started that Medspa from the ground up after some training, and had sacrificed greatly for my dream. As life would go, I did step down as a partner due to family obligations that took priority. Now here we are, 3 years later with enough experience in both functional medicine and aesthetic medicine to add value to anywhere I work.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
First thing comes to food! I’m in love with Rreal Tacos! Such great food and drinks! I actually took my good friend there this last fall, and we had so much fun.
Then it would be the Beltline, for a nice walk and stop in all the boutiques along the way.
Also, going a little into the country is necessary, I love a trip to Helen, GA and tubing down the river.
We would also go the the Battery and enjoy a Braves game, and the over all vibe.
For an expensive yet WORTH EVERY PENNY place to go to would be STK steakhouse . So beautiful and luxurious.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My current Boss Natalie, and owner of Skin Social Medspa in Sandy Springs, GA is a walking inspiration to me. At a young age, she completed her Masters degree in nursing, and became an FNP, starting her own practice. Now she has operated a successful business for over 14 months.
Also, a friend of mine who held my hand as I entered into aesthetics. Her name is Blair Linsley, FNP and she owns Cavina Medspa in Roswell GA. She is as real as they come, and I’m forever grateful.
