We had the good fortune of connecting with Alexis Small and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Alexis, why did you pursue a creative career?
I love creating and designing. As a digital artist and certified pastry chef, I am on the path of having all my talents available for everyone to experience. As a little girl I was brought up watching my elders creating projects for others. So art, cooking, baking, sewing and painting have been a part of me since. This is when my journey started for me. For me the abilities of art can help me express my feelings of love for things in so many ways with such detail and tones. I will continue to walk in the purpose God has set for me and be that example to my beautiful daughters. I want to be able to show them that anything is possible if you believe. My favorite part of art is developing something from nothing and creating a masterpieces that people love. I also used my crafts and gifts to help sponsors different organizations such as LUPUS, Sickle Cell, and Breast cancer Awareness. I want to share my talents with other moms across the world. God has blessed my hands with such amazing gifts and talents. I am ready to share my passion and love of art.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
You best believe it wasn’t easy. I got to where I am today with a lot praying, hard work, sleepless nights, tears and love. I have had a lot happen that has tried to keep me away from my passion. I did not give up I kept at it. There was a bigger picture that I was focused on rather than the right now. I had to change my mindset and not only that I had to change me. I learned that everyone is not for me and I am ok with that. Because at the end of the day I have to be for me and be my biggest cheerleader. I want the world to know that I am here. I am a creative being with many talents and ready to share them with the world. Not only do I design digital art but I also cook, decorate events, design candy tables. table escapes, and candy specialist as well. I am your BTE Creative Shoppe.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
We would go hang out by the water relaxing and and enjoying the view. Then eat some seafood and afterwards check out an , Art gallery or museum. Tryout some upscale restaurants and elegant chocolate sweet shops. Throughout the week we would catch up on old times and go on shopping spree.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
God First and foremost. He is the reason I can do anything. My daughters, they are my Why and my push to keep going. My family and friends and CBCIC Tribe.
