We had the good fortune of connecting with Aimee Cassinelli and we’ve shared our conversation below.
Hi Aimee, we’d love to hear what makes you happy.
SMILES make me happy! I’ve dedicated my life to creating healthy, happy SMILES one patient at a time. Not many people are lucky enough to say that they are in the “profession of SMILES.” As a pediatric dentist, I certainly can! I have been practicing pediatric dentistry for almost 20 years. My practice, Peak Pediatric Dentistry, is situated in Sandy Springs, Georgia. My goal is to make every child’s dental experience one to SMILE about! At Peak, we recognize that nobody has more influence on a child’s lifelong SMILE than their pediatric dentist. Prevention is my number one goal for all patients. We spend time with every patient at every visit reviewing good dietary habits and hygiene to create a healthy, lifelong smile. We teach our patients best practices to prevent those pesky sugar bugs! What makes Peak unique? My dedicated, kid loving staff. My staff is proud of the business they are a part of and love helping our patients achieve healthy SMILES. My staff appreciates the trust our families have in us to make happy, healthy SMILES for each of our patients. Taking the time to create an individual experience for our patients is what sets Peak Pediatric Dentistry apart. We strive to make going to the dentist the highlight of your child’s day! For example, Fridays are simply more fun in my office. We wear Sesame Street t-shirts with our scrubs on Fridays and always get extra SMILES with our character shirts. What makes me SMILE the most? Watching my patients grow up. I love to experience family joy as a toddler becomes a sibling. Seeing a ‘toothless’ kindergarten smile and hearing the story that accompanies the loss of a child’s first tooth. Witnessing teenage patients (many we have known since they were in diapers) talking about prom and their plans after graduation. I have been lucky enough to have patients decide to enter the dental profession because of their experience at our office. This is the most rewarding part of my job and what makes me SMILE.
Can you give our readers an introduction to your business? Maybe you can share a bit about what you do and what sets you apart from others?
Providing individualized, comprehensive pediatric dentistry is the foundation of my practice. I have dedicated my career to providing the highest quality pediatric dental care. No child is too young to be seen in our practice-we offer the first birthday examination ‘complimentary’ if you come to visit before 15 months of age! At Peak, we see one family at a time. Our patients appreciate that we only see one family at a time. Our staff is totally focused on your child and spends extra time to ensure your comfort and dental needs are being met. I am most proud of what our patients say about us! 95% of our patients come to our practice through word of mouth. Whether it is a neighbor, friend, relative, physician, dentist, or online mom exchange, word of mouth is our greatest compliment. Nothing satisfies me more than when a family leaves my office and tell others about their amazing experience at Peak. Creating positive dental experiences that can impact a child for a lifetime is what makes me tick!
Any great local spots you’d like to shoutout?
With the recent COVID 19 outbreak, I have been lucky enough to be able to walk and explore The Golf Course at Chastain Park. Throughout the spring, I’ve spent hours walking the course, enjoying the Spring blossoms and really appreciating nature. We have supported the local restaurants and gotten some really good takeout. Our favorite take out spot is Loyal Q BBQ. We have also enjoyed Storico Fresco’s take out menu.
Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
This shout out goes to my father! He is a practicing cosmetic dentist in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I fondly remember days of playing with my siblings in my father’s dental office. We would squirt each other with the water from each operatory! We would make molds from impression materials and take each other for ‘rides’ in the dental chairs. My father was the team dentist for the NHL Pittsburgh Penguins. I often attended hockey games with him. That is where my passion for treating dental trauma began. Treatment of dental trauma is still an integral part of my practice today.
