We had the good fortune of connecting with Adam Johnson and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Adam, what makes you happy? Why?
Creating inspiring stories from my storyboards/animation. Providing jobs to young creatives out of college when I wasn’t provided those jobs. There is so many wonderful people and organizations in this animation industry here in Georgia that it truly is a joy to work here.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am currently a Animation Director on a indie animated tv series called “Boundless” that is being produced by “The Neighborhood studios” in Atlanta. I was the storyboard artist on episode 1 and was promoted this year to their animation director and have the pleasure to hire 6 wonderful creatives working with us since the start of Q2 of 2025. We are working hard on making the animation adaption of the manga and its looking wonderful.

I am proud to work with a team and even happier to work fulltime on something in the animation industry.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Ponce city market is always wonderful for food, drinks, and walking around the beltline.

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
Kennesaw State University continues to be an amazing college for students to get an outlet for their creativity with wonderful instructors on the campus. Along with AWESOME INC a local studio here in GA is a studio that inspires me every day with their impact on the community, providing jobs to amazing creatives, and being wonderful acquaintances in the industry.
