We had the good fortune of connecting with Jessica Lynn and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jessica, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking
Risk taking is scary. But if you never try you’ll never know. By taking risks I was able to create my own empire and was able to work with so many business owners, create my own schedule and be my own boss and I look back and can’t think if I’d ever go back to a 9-5 job that isn’t mine.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
My macrame was a huge part in my life after I had my son Cash. I suffered from postpartum depression and needed something to get me out of my funk. I’ve always been a creative person and I knew I’d always be an artist of some sort I just didn’t know what type of artist I’d become.

Macrame was more for me than anything. I didn’t imagine creating it as a business but more of a therapeutic outlet.

After sharing my art in social media I had so many friends and family wanting me to create so many customs! They raved about it and suddenly became word of mouth. That’s when I decided I should make a business page for it.

Everyone has the ability to be creative and if you don’t think you are you haven’t found your niche.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
I’m all about local. Being someone who owns 3 brick and mortar businesses and on top of One Knotty Maker I would want to show them what our cute town has to offer! We would dine at all our favorite local restaurants, going to yoga and visiting our local events!

The Shoutout series is all about recognizing that our success and where we are in life is at least somewhat thanks to the efforts, support, mentorship, love and encouragement of others. So is there someone that you want to dedicate your shoutout to?
I know my biggest cheerleader is my husband. Without him, I probably wouldn’t be as successful as I am today. He worked the 9 to 5 so I was able to make all my dreams come true. Not cliche at all lol.
