Diamond Clay | Clothing Store Owner & Creator of The Minding Your Business Planner

My favorite quote is “It makes no sense for the flowerpot to be full if it isn’t going to water the plants” meaning giving is the sole purpose of receiving. I believe it is important to use what you have to reach back and help out those around you. I do so by volunteering in local food drives, supporting local causes, and donating clothes from my clothing store to group homes and shelters. Read more>>

Baylee Menetre | Elite Stylist

I’m not sure if it’s a quote, but I’ve said it more times than I can count. “I’d do hair for free if I could” • what I mean by this is, I’m so in love with my career as a stylist that I’d do it for free if I could live that way! Hair is more than just a career for me, it’s a passion, an art, and an entire community based on the love of hair! Read more>>

Chanelle McMillan | Photographer and creative director

There is a quote by Alice Walker “ whenever you are creating beauty around you, you are restoring your own soul” like many other creatives, our artistry is an outlet. When I’m creating it’s truly a euphoric feeling. To be able to be paid for what I love to do as well as inspire others is truly icing on the cake Read more>>

LOMA JONES | LOVE PHOTOGRAPHER (ENGAGEMENTS, MATERNITY, WEDDINGS, NEWBORNS)

Absolutely, I believe most successful people have a mantra they carry with them. My favorite quote was delivered by Abraham Lincoln, “I have fallen upon my knees many nights, with the overwhelming conviction that I have nowhere else to go.” I fell in love with this quote during my senior year of high school. I even used it as my “senior quote”. As much as we hate to admit it, we cannot always be vulnerable with one another. We face trials and tribulations that cannot always be discussed, but God is the listening ear that passes no judgment. He just listens. Becoming successful has been lonely for me. I had to realize that not many people I started with will end beside me, however, God continues to be constant. Read more>>

“If I didn’t define myself, for myself. I would be crunched into other people’s fantasies for me and eaten alive.” – Audre Lorde … One of my favorite quotes. It reminds me that being authentic is always the right way to be, being yourself, defining yourself, no one else can tell you who you are because you know who you are, they just have to sit back and watch/listen and experience you for who you truly are. Some may like it, some may not, oh well. Leave it to others they’ll try to put you in a box that play into their fantasies/needs, not today. Read more>>

Blossom NICOLE THOMPSON | Event Planner, Host, Author, Enthusiast, Promoter

I do! One of the most influential poets for me is Maya Angelou. I gravitate to her because she believed in mankind. She believed that a person could mold themselves into something great. Even when it didn’t seem like there was hope. I loved the first line of “Still I Rise” Read more>>

Bianca Mcfadden | Makeup artist, Hair stylist and Wig maker

I was a Pastor kid that grew up in church. We went to church 3 times a week. I later became extremely grateful for being raised in church and introduce to God. It was that and the bible that got me through some of my worst times. One scripture is ”Isaiah 41:13 For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, Fear not, I am the one who helps you. I struggled with fear of success and just fear to really let go and show my talent thinking I was not good enough. This scripture and others truly helped me understand that I should not fear anything because I have God as my help, and you can’t get no better then God as your help! Read more>>

“What motivates me? is the fear of being average” – Agustin Soldati Success does not come from following the plan that society lays for us. Being average is not enough, to be successful one must be ambitious and tenacious enough to get out of the normative. Read more>>
