We had the good fortune of connecting with Heather Smith and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Heather, let’s start by talking about what inspires you?
Learning new things inspires me. I love to come up with creative ideas to improve something or make something new. I will say the biggest inspiration in my life is every challenge that comes my way. Challenges, much more than anything else, keeps me up no matter how hard they can get sometimes. I always believe that while challenges were meant to sometimes distract us, they can also give us hope and inspire us to be better. My family also is very inspiring. My husband of 19 years and two children motivate me to be the best me.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
At PerfecTouch 2 I strive to ensure my clients have an ultimate experience from the first consultation and throughout the entire collaboration to create the most elegant floral designs for my clients’ event. My designs are created by hand with the freshest, most vibrant flowers attainable in the area. It is not always glamourous and easy, I have to work under some extreme timelines and circumstances from time to time, but I always love a challenge. I aim to please and deliver exactly what my clients always visioned for their special day. I have learned patience and perseverance along way. A continued effort to do or achieve something despite difficulties, failure, or opposition motivates me to ensure my business is successful.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
Some of my favorite restaurants are Porch Light Kitchen in Smyrna, GA, I also love the Optimist in Atlanta being a seafood lover, they offer a nice selection at their raw oyster bar. Lastly I love a great pizza with a vibe which can be found at Slim & Husky. My top 3 places to visit are the Atlanta Botanical Garden, Georgia Aquarium and of course the Martin Luther King Jr. National Historic Site.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout my mentor and friend Carla Duncan with On Occasions of Atlanta. I will always be grateful to her for all the support and kindness she has shown me through the years. Carla encouraged me to start my own business PerfecTouch 2. It would be impossible to count all the ways that she has helped me awake my passion for floral design. I will always be grateful for her friendship.
