Meet Jaida Hall | Student athlete and business owner

We had the good fortune of connecting with Jaida Hall and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jaida, can you share the most important lesson you’ve learned over the course of your career?
One of the most important lessons my business has taught me is to start and finish whatever I want to accomplish without making excuses. If you really want to achieve something you will get it done. Making excuses and allowing fear to stop you will only hinder your goals. Self doubt and fear are the two of the biggest obstacles you have to work through. I learned that if I stop doubting myself, stop making excuses, and not allow fear to stop me I will succeed in anything I do.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
The main thing that sets me apart from other business similar to mine are my goals. My goal is to encourage everyone to become the best version of themselves by being comfortable with themselves. By providing the most comfortable athleisure wear and building bonds with every single customer, I hope to show others anything is possible and everything will work out as it is supposed to. The number one thing I would tell anyone wanting to start a business is it is not easy. You have to maintain another level of faith and confidence to be successful in the business world. There are so many other entrepreneurs doing exactly what you do but you have to go against the grain and do what other businesses are not doing. Find what makes you different and do exactly that. Sculpted by Elise is where it is today because I did not give up when the biggest obstacles were put in front of me. One of my biggest challenges is marketing and promoting on social media. At first I wanted to give up because I was uncomfortable with taking videos and pictures. I knew social media was the major factor to my business being successful. I forced myself to get out of my comfort zone and promote myself. After trial and error some videos went viral while others did not. As the videos went viral haters came along, but I did not allow them to make me stop doing what I needed to do. I want the world to know that anything is possible if you get out your comfort zone and do what you want to do with faith and confidence. Everything will work out as it is meant to. Keep going and you will succeed.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
The best part about Atlanta is all the different restaurants and hang out spots. For first time visitors I would recommend a Thai restaurant in the heart of Atlanta named Surrins. They have the best bbq chicken and rice hands down. The next restaurant I would recommend is Houstons in Buckhead. If we wanted some good breakfast I would take them to Another Broken Egg who have the best pancakes. To enjoy Atlanta’s views and people I would take them to the belt line to ride scooters, walk, or have a picnic outside. If we wanted to enjoy some time inside I would bring a visitor to the Georgia Aquarium. If we wanted to chill and watch a movie without going to a movie theater we would go to Starlight drive in movies.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Without my customers who support and show me endless love, Sculpted by Elise would not be as successful as it is. I want give a huge shoutout to everyone who continues to support me whether it’s wearing Sculpted, liking and reposting my content, or even wishing me well with my business. I want to shoutout my mom who taught me that I would appreciate my business journey more if I learned and put in the work by myself. She has encouraged me to make the best choices in my life which has led me to become the entrepreneur I am today. Lastly, I want to shoutout my mentor Gary Harmon who has taught me that building relationship with God will allow me to go far in life. When I first started Sculpted Gary encouraged me to have faith and pray before I made any decisions regarding my business. This is a life lesson I will forever use in everything I do now.
