We had the good fortune of connecting with Auspicious and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Auspicious, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
I am the creator and owner of Fashioná. A luxury wear brand curated for the culture that highlights/celebrates blackness in all forms throughout the diaspora.

I pursued a creative career because it has always been in me to create. Since I can remember I have always been creative, and everyone around me could see that through the multiple ways I express myself. Whether it’s through my bold hairstyles, different fashion looks, or even things I physically create I’ve always expressed myself in unique unapologetic ways.

My brand Fashioná is a wholehearted expression of my creativity. I needed an outlet bigger than me to show others like myself, that it is okay to express your true self in its entirety.

There are so many societal boundaries placed on individuals which cause us to suppress our true identity. Fashioná encourages and embraces the idea of full self-expression because we are all unique and can learn from one another.
This is seen throughout our bold fashion pieces, photography, the celebration of individuals that paved the way for us, and much more.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
I am the creator and owner of a luxury wear brand named Fashioná. I’m most proud of the community of supporters that has been built around the brand.

I got to where I am today with the help of social media by sharing my creativity with the world online. It has definitely not been an easy/smooth road but overcoming all the obstacles placed me where I am today. Initially, I struggled with comparison. I felt my brand was less than because I did not have the big budgets or materials for large shoots, models, custom packaging and etc.

Comparison is the thief of joy, you never know the things someone had to go to for them to get to the position they are today. I’ve learned to focus on my own path. You are not in a race with anyone, focus on yourself and see how much you’ll grow.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
If I had a friend visiting the A for a week, id take them out to eat at Gocha’s, Ponce City Market, and The Beautiful.

For a fun day out we’d go to Piedmont park, hit up the Lenox and the Atlanta botanical garden.

Then we can go to Lacura, or the Peacock for a nighttime scene.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
Shoutout to everyone who supports me! Your support truly does not go unnoticed, whenever I feel down or unmotivated I re-read all the nice things y’all say to me and it lifts my spirits.

To all my creatives doing what they love, shoutout to y’all as well. Like I always say keep going, you never know where this can take you and whose life you’re truly impacting. Love y’all!
