We had the good fortune of connecting with Dihanah Joseph and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Dihanah, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
Well along with being a photographer I am also a fashion and lifestyle blogger. Constantly taking pictures is a huge component of blogging and since I was a little girl Ive always LOVED taking pictures. I’m very left brain and naturally creative. Last March when the world shut down I purchased my first DSLR camera, what started as a hobby and me sharpening my skills to elevate my blogging brand quickly grew into something bigger than I could ever imagine.

Alright, so for those in our community who might not be familiar with your business, can you tell us more?
Growing up as a 1st generation immigrant, I’ve always praised my parents for the work ethics and values they instilled in me. I had a lot of free time in the house as a child and this definitely helped to carve out my love for all things artsy. Between my creative juices and a strong sense of workmanship I knew I was equipped to take on the woes and wows of entrepreneurship. Everyday is not easy but worth it when you are passionate about your craft. Dihanah M. Photography is my baby and I pride myself in creating breath taking imagery for anyone or anything that steps in front of my lens.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Omg there are so many amazing things to do in Atlanta! One of my favorite areas in town is Midtown. I love the Colony Square Center (you have to eat at Five church) & Piedmont Park is right down the street as well.

I also enjoy all the museums that Atlanta has to offer! My favorite include The High Museum, Apex Museum and the Center for Civil and Human Rights.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
A very good friend of mine Shamim was the fuel that helped me to ignite my photography career. I captured her 29th birthday pictures and she was absolutely in love with them. Her push and “go for it girl!” motivation was exactly what I needed to take that leap.
