We had the good fortune of connecting with Jai. Green and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Jai., what role has risk played in your life or career?
When it comes to risk, I bet on myself. If I don’t get it done I know it’s on me and I can live with that at the end of the day knowing I gave it my all. I’m apart of a collective called OPN SZN. It’s a group of people more talented than myself and they give me the reassurance like “Nah bro you got this”. That confidence booster right there just lets me know I can do anything.

Taking risk has played a huge role in my life and career since I decided to bet on myself. It’s the reason I’m a full time filmmaker today. After my last corporate job did me dirty AF I went to get advice from my mother who went through a similar situation and she kept it 100 with me. Her advice was I should be my own boss. I needed to work for myself and her I am two and a half years later grinding it out.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
So I’m a Director/Filmmaker from Atlanta, GA “Nawfside”. I know people will say the NORTHSIDE isn’t Atlanta but ask me how much I care? lol I think what sets me apart from others is the people I surround myself with. If you hang around 4 millionaires you’re likely to be the 5th, same goes for surrounding yourself around people that don’t have your best intentions at heart. You’ll likely be like them.

I always loved music and started out in radio. S/O to Shorty Mack of Foxie 105 and Ferrari Simmons and Fly Guy DC of Streetz 94.5. They played a huge role in me realizing that being in media and film is what I wanted to do. My boy Juan introduced me to Ferrari & DC so I can’t go forward without recognizing and thanking him for what he did. He’s one of the biggest if not the BIGGEST sneaker head in Atlanta.

It wasn’t easy though i had to do a lot of

things for free, I interned for Shorty Mack and filmed Rari & DC’s “Sneaker’s of the Week’ for FREE lol. Doing that led to other opportunities which led me to where I am today.

The lessons I’ve learned along the way are stay down, know who you are, keep it 100 because real recognizes real and when your time comes show everybody but most importantly yourself why you were put in that position.

I want the world to know that I’m nothing without the people I surround myself with. They didn’t have to let me into their circle, they didn’t have to teach me the ropes, give me advice… but they did and I’m forever grateful.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
If my best friend was visiting Atlanta DON’T CALL ME lol. I’m not in these streets like I used to be I’d rather catch a flight to an island and chill, so yeah to my bestie where we headed next?

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I dedicate this to my OPN SZN family. Rell, Caleb, Shawn, Grey, Sammy, Jordan, LavTooMuch everybody. They are the support system. They are dope at what they do and the support system that they’ve given me is priceless.  Hit us up for your next project.
