We had the good fortune of connecting with The ATL Blacklist and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi The ATL Blacklist, maybe we can start at the very start – the idea – how did you come up with the idea for your business?
During George Floyd and many other tragedies, we realized that we needed to figure the next steps for the Black community and also a centralized place for resources. Resources from those within our community and for those that look like us, specifically in the Atlanta area, hence The ATL Blacklist.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
We’re a database that can be used as a resource for our community. We believe that what sets us apart from other businesses is that we have a unique database that we have not yet seen done by others. We are just getting started and have yet to face any challenges. We’ve learnt that consistency, community and impact are key. We want the world to know that our database features all Black businesses and creatives. We also want the world to know that our database free to access and to submit to.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
For anything that you want to do in the Atlanta area, you should check out our database at TheATLBlacklist.com. Our database features restaurants, designers, music artists, photographers and many other types of businesses for whatever your needs may be.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
The people within the Black community and those who lost their lives.
