We had the good fortune of connecting with Lionel Jenkins and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Lionel, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
The reason I started Country Bike Life was to showcase the bike life culture in the Charleston area. Growing up in the country, we were raised up riding and racing dirt bikes and 4 wheelers. Now that bike life is so popular all over, my plan was to show that South Carolina is apart of the movement as well. Our YouTube channel shows the lifestyle we live centered around bikes and how it brings people from all over together for the love of riding and more.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Getting to where I am today was definitely a process because I never thought my life would be the way it is at the moment. I graduated from Coastal Carolina with a degree in physics with plans to become an engineer. Becoming an engineer is still a dream of mine but I am also focused on getting my business to the top. My business has mostly transitioned into clothing and I hope to become a huge influence to the Bike Life community with my merch.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
My favorite thing to do in Charleston is to hang out with friends and to go out and eat good food from new restaurants. Since the start of the pandemic, there isn’t much things to do in the city. A popular night club to go to in the city is Vibez.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
There are two people that have been with me during this whole journey from the very start. The first person is Cameron Byas. Cameron was inspirational for the simple fact of him teaching me how to become a better rider and introducing to the lifestyle as a whole. He was the first to buy a GoPro which led to me getting mine and starting my channel. The next person is my right hand man Maleek Capleton. Maleek and I are always thinking of ways to make become successful, and he’s always been my biggest supporter. Whatever I need physically or financially he makes sure I have it so I’m in a position to win.
