We had the good fortune of connecting with Kimberly Gordon and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Kimberly, how do you think about risk?
Risk taking is very necessary in starting or running a business. Playing it safe is always smart, however if you don’t take risk you’ll always think about what would’ve happened if you just took that risk. I’ve always been a person to say “What the hell” I’m just gonna try it. My entire career has been based on taking risk and doing something that I’m actually terrified to do. Of course everything didn’t always work out how I planned, however it’s a lesson learned and I’m not constantly thinking “what if”. I’m a firm believer in jumping out there and taking the leap of faith.

Can you open up a bit about your work and career? We’re big fans and we’d love for our community to learn more about your work.
Well I’m a licensed cosmetologist specializing in Short cuts. I love Hair all together, but short hair is my niche! With so many other talented stylist to choose from I try to set myself apart by staying up to date on the latest trends. I strive to give A1 customer service, I want each person I service to feel like I appreciate and value their business. I’ve learned throughout my career patience and understanding. Hair means a lot to us women and its a privilege to be trusted to service women’s most prized possession. Kissed Hair by Kim aims to please. Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
My mother the late Mabel Russell deserves the credit for who I am today and my career choice. I learned at a early the true definition of resilience from her. I’m forever grateful for her.
