Meet Charmaine Nziradzemhuka: Fashion Designer

We had the good fortune of connecting with Charmaine Nziradzemhuka and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Charmaine, can you walk us through the thought-process of starting your business?
When I graduated, I began looking and searching for job opportunities. I had opportunities to be interviewed, I eventually got hired and I am grateful hence, I am still working on building my own business. While waiting I knew I wanted to start my own business and company. Co-vid 19 being another factor, I realized companies were a lot more thorough in whom they were hiring. I decided to start my own business CharDesignz.

What should our readers know about your business?
The fashion industry has never had a positive impact both mentally and environmentally. I believe that has to change. I am a fashion designer. An advocate for bringing positive awareness in the fashion industry. Being your true authentic self and being accepted for your individuality is important. The fashion industry has not done a great job in allowing people to fully express themselves as individuals. It has marketed an ideal fantasy or an ideal look. My brand embraces self- value,true identity and self-expression focusing on an individual’s personality and mental health. As a young child reading about the negative environmental aspects of the fashion industry. I am passionate in making a difference by creating timeless clothes that last longer and can be recycled. Fabric takes a long time to decay so the pieces of fabric that are thrown away are damaging our environment. We believe in zero waste and creating a positive environment in the world we live in by not polluting it. CharDesignz is a startup company. The most exciting part is consumers lives are being impacted in a positive way. It’s not easy starting a company in a competitive world. Patience and building the brand one step at a time is the most frustrating, yet exciting part when you see yourself grow. Remembering the company’s purpose helps us focus on the goal. In the future, I desire this company to become a global brand that will create a positive impact in the world.

Let’s say your best friend was visiting the area and you wanted to show them the best time ever. Where would you take them? Give us a little itinerary – say it was a week long trip, where would you eat, drink, visit, hang out, etc.
A place to eat in Atlanta is Egg harbour Cafe – They have absolutely my favourite breakfast there.

A basketball game at the State Farm Arena is a great place to visit.

The High Museum and SCAD FASH Museum is a great place to be inspired. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother and father and my aunt these 3 people have played an important role in supporting my career. My parents are entrepreneurs so they do seed into my entrepreneurial journey. They constantly support everything that I do and have nurtured me into who I am today. I am truly grateful for their unwavering support.
