We had the good fortune of connecting with Tye Dennis and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Tye, other than deciding to work for yourself, what was the single most important decision you made that contributed to your success?
Deciding to be consistent. I could never bear the fruit, if I didn’t put in the labor. The only thing that can stop you from becoming successful is if you stop.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I own a fashion magazine catered to women in their twenties. I feel adulting is already confusing enough without having role models who pretend it’s absolutely easy and perfect. I provide a different approach by giving my my raw wisdom and insight through relatable stories and experiences. I do this not with the goal of wanting one to think differently, but the goal of wanting them to think openly. I also provide must-have looks that are mature, yet sexy- my magazine almost operates as a hub for one of a kind, up & coming fashion brands. I make sure my clientele is left exclusively renewed in their mind and style so they too can take on and leave a mark on the world.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
People come to Atlanta for two things- Wings & Nightlife. My absolute favorite wings come from American Deli ( 10 piece hot, extra-wet, crunchy, Lemmon pepper sprinkle is a true ATL girl classic). As far as nightlife Atlanta has a ton of things to do. If you want classic vibes you can stop by cascade on a Sunday (adult skate) night (around 7pm because the parking is full before 8). My favorite nightclub is cheetah. You have access to gourmet food, while you are in the environment of some of the top performers. Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
My mother, Pamela Sutton, deserves recognition in my story. She was the first to believe in my clouded vision and helped clear my path to success. She has taken almost every picture for my magazine before I could afford a photographer and still does it when I need her to. She is always bringing me new ideas and new clothing brands to include in the magazine. I absolutely couldn’t do it without her.
