We had the good fortune of connecting with A’Driana LaFaye and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi A’Driana, have there been any changes in how you think about work-life balance?
That’s a wonderful question! My work-life balance has changed over time because my work is ever-evolving. In the beginning, it was easier to set aside time to work on my book or schedule meetings, etc. For example, when I started my business I was working an overnight shift so I would work that job, get off in the morning and work my business, then still try to have time for family. It was burning me out! As my business grows, it does become a bit more difficult to find that balance. It takes more of an effort to ensure I am spending quality time with my family and taking time out for me as well. It is very easy to get lost in work especially when you have a full-time job and working on your business. But, it is extremely important to find that work-life balance and understand that it can change everyday.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
Professionally, I’ve worked in the Customer Service industry for over 20 years. I’ve worked for Fortune 500 Companies such as Bank of America and The Home Depot. Currently, I still work full-time as a Chat Support Agent. I’m also working on Tryals & Trybulations II. A book I co-authored with Lillie Mae called The Glambitious Guide to Winning in 2020 was just released this year as well as I am mentoring several up and coming authors. I have a book festival I’ll be a vendor at in Houston, TX in October so I’m keeping pretty busy!

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
A great time amongst friends would be brunch at Mary Mac’s Tea Room for some great Shrimp and Grits. Then, visit Atlantic Station to do some shopping (or window shopping) at such places like DSW, Macy’s, possibly hit up a movie. After we’ve worked up an appetite, one of my go to restaurants in that area is The Yard House. Dinner would be my favorite spot in Fayetteville called La Hacienda to get their signature La Hacienda Fish plate. I love Atlanta! My go-to tourist spots are the Georgia Aquarium and any sports event such as the Atlanta Hawks, The Braves, or the Falcons.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
Yes, definitely! I want to send a shoutout to my family and friends. They have been extremely supportive and encouraging. I want to send a shoutout to my Book Coach, Zeta J, who provided me with the steps I needed to get my book published. I also want to give a shoutout to my PR Agent, Lillie Mae. She is great at what she does and has organize interviews and exposure for me.
