We had the good fortune of connecting with Whitney G and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Whitney, what led you to pursuing a creative path professionally?
All my life I’ve been a creative. I’ve loved the arts in whatever form; music, art, food, fashion etc. Music has been my main source of inspiration and the reason I pursued music is because my uncle always told me that if I didn’t use the gift God gave me, I would lose it. That stuck with me for YEARS until I finally had to courage to get in the booth and it’s been up ever since.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
I get compared to many artists sound wise and looks wise but I believe I still have my own style that sets me apart from others. It takes a lot of perseverance to pursue music because things won’t happen overnight for everyone. You have to believe in yourself and even on days where you may not be feeling it 100%, just keep pushing. That’s what’s helped me along the way this far and knowing that my story will help somebody one day. Patience and pain are the greatest lessons I was taught.

If you had a friend visiting you, what are some of the local spots you’d want to take them around to?
Atlanta has soooo many dope places. I’m still learning the city and finding all type of spots I never knew existed. I like chill spots like the Hide or Sea Salt. I finally went to aquarium recently haha it was dope.

Who else deserves some credit and recognition?
I would like to thank God first and foremost for giving me the gift. Definitely can’t forget my loved ones and even the strangers who support me but my parents deserve the biggest hand clap of all. My mama is my #1 fan and my Dad who passed in August 2020 played a big part in my music career. I owe it to both of them, they encouraged me to follow my dreams and believed in me and I am forever grateful.
