We had the good fortune of connecting with Michael Lane and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Michael, what was your thought process behind starting your own business?
For years my wife and I have been passionate about health and wellness. I never realized how passionate I was about health and wellness until I sat down and thought about it. It had always been a part of my life and a part of me. Many of my friends and family encouraged me to get involved in the space but I wanted to do something that was authentic to myself, my family, and our lifestyle. Once we figured out what that was and the best way to do it the Lane Wellness Co was born. Through Lane Wellness Co, we will address activity and nutrition for today’s modern partnership/family through exercise, food recipes, and mind/body connection.

Alright, so let’s move onto what keeps you busy professionally?
My professional career has always involved some form of risk management and although it has been very rewarding it has not been easy. I can recall working full time, being in grad school, and having a new born. One thing I had to learn very quick is prioritizing, but anything can be accomplished with discipline and self accountability. Everything will not always be pretty and some task will appear insurmountable, but continue on your journey one step at a time.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
I’m taking them to the gym for a work out. That has to be the first stop, but afterwards we are going to relax and enjoy ourselves. We would definitely go get some wings from Tom Dick and Hanks. We have to go to a Braves game and bar hop at the Battery. Lastly, we have to go to a nice dinner so we can dress up.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would like to dedicate this shout out to my family. I am blessed to have a supportive wife and son. Everything we accomplish we accomplish together. It truly is a team effort. I would also like to thank my parents. As I have grown in life I realize more and more the example they have set and the sacrifices they have made. Even to this day, it never ceases to amaze me how much I have learned from them and how much I depend on the values they instilled in me. Lastly, I would like to thank my sister. When we moved to Atlanta we did not have any family here, but she has since relocated and there is nothing like having family close.
