We had the good fortune of connecting with Akivia Blue and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Akivia, we’d love to hear about how you approach risk and risk-taking.
Taking risks in life is a necessity. How will you ever know if something will work out if you don’t take the risk? I’ve taken many risks in my life that I was unsure about but being that I just took them and went with the flow of things they turned out great for me.

What should our readers know about your business?
I am the owner of The Blue Hair Palace. I’ve been doing hair for almost 13 years now.I currently work at Runway Curls Salon Suites in Midtown. I’ve decided to add on a few limbs as far as being an entrepreneur. I’ve launched a new product line for my hair business. I’ve rebranded my product line to be known as Akivia Miquelle Products. I’m also about to launch a clothing line with my mother, Temeka Thomas Called Mique Allure. This road has not been easy. My biggest challenge has been trying to juggle everything at once. I’ve learned along the way to stay calm and speak positive affirmations daily and things will always work out for my highest good.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I want to give a shout out to GOD!!! He’s been my main go to and source throughout my entire journey. Literally anything I ask him for he has done it for me. As far as where I’m at right now in life, I would like to give a shout out to this pandemic. It was not for a good cause obviously. However, it has honestly brought out a beast in me. I have stepped all the way out of my comfort zone. I can definitely say this pandemic has caused me to dig deep and use my fullest potential. I’m very grateful for it. But I also have been keeping families and individuals who have suffered from it in my prayers as well.
