We had the good fortune of connecting with Qulanda Moore and we’ve shared our conversation below.

Hi Qulanda, what habits do you feel play an important role in your life?
Since I was a little girl I’ve always been very curious and inquisitive. Because of this, I’ve always loved reading and researching everything, asking questions and keeping an open mind to learn about things beyond my immediate circle of influence. I believe that these are some of the most influential habits that have contributed to success in various areas of my life.

Let’s talk shop? Tell us more about your career, what can you share with our community?
A Creative Entrepreneur (CEO & Founder of QueUp Productions LLC) I have over 10 years of experience in the administrative management and entertainment industry. I have partnered with many creatives to work as executive, supervising, associate and line producer on various film/theater/tv production company projects throughout the Atlanta area. The productions I’m most proud of are my feature-film “A Time For Love” and the web series “The Single Life”. As the writer/executive producer/director of these two projects, I was really blessed to have a phenomenal production team and cast to bring these visions to the screen. Those who have worked in production know it is no easy feet to complete a project from beginning to end, so I am thankful to have such a great team to help make these projects possible. One of the biggest challenges faced during production is typically finances and the budget. Being able to complete your project as you visualize and see it in your head is not always possible due to outside factors and budgetary restrictions, especially in the world of independent film. My team and I overcame many challenges by utilizing our available resources and creative out-of-the-box imagination to get things done. Crowdfunding was also a big help in supplementing our production budgets. One thing that I would like the world to know about the brand of my production company is that we are all visionaries. Bringing a creative idea to life to share with the world is the ultimate goal and celebration of our success.

Any places to eat or things to do that you can share with our readers? If they have a friend visiting town, what are some spots they could take them to?
As an Atlanta native, I truly love my city! Atlanta is such a historic and beautiful place, its hard to pin down just one area to share. If I had to choose, I would save that downtown Atlanta is my favorite area. I am from the south side of town (Riverdale/College Park) but attended Georgia State University and lived on campus, in downtown Atlanta and loved it. The skyline at night is gorgeous. I would definitely recommend spending time on Peachtree Street and Piedmont Park for sure. There are so many great food spots to try and places to hang out, but I would probably recommend the south side of town for some of the best wings.

Shoutout is all about shouting out others who you feel deserve additional recognition and exposure. Who would you like to shoutout?
I would love to shoutout my family and close friends who are like my family. They have been my village and my number 1 support system from the very early stages of my creative career. I am truly blessed to have a tight-knit relationship with my dad (John – who raised me), my siblings (T’nita, Monte, Quisy, David & Korlyn), my nieces and nephews (too many to name!), friends I’ve grown up with since high school / college (Jennifer, Whitney, Nisha, Daneeta & Tiffani-MiShelle) and mentors (Carol Hunter, Marc & Tami Schwartz – who have been like my surrogate parents). I have been writing and creating film productions since high school and all of these people have contributed their time, money, and energy to my journey and helping me accomplish my dreams of bringing my projects from script to screen. I am the woman that I am today because my village of friends and family would never allow me to quit. Their love and support brings out the best in me and I’m truly grateful to have them all in my life. I also have to give a special shout out to my big brother / podcast co-host – Jonathan. We have been working on film productions together for the past 15 years or so, and have grown together professionally, now dabbling into the world of podcasting.
